Position Summary

Join MDC Holdings (parent company of Richmond American Homes) as an Sr. interactive designer! In this position, you’ll be helping homebuyers realize the American Dream of home ownership through your creative expertise in marketing and interactive design. We are looking for a superstar with a strong understanding of current marketing trends, desire to pursue new technological opportunities, a strong eye for design, and the technical skills to create custom responsive designs and videos for mobile and desktop delivery.

This role works as part of a multidisciplinary team and takes on tasks that support the User Experience team. Some responsibilities of this role may evolve or shift as the department's needs change. The person in this role will be asked to help with additional tasks as workload requires, including but not limited to:

• Community map svg alteration
• Video creation/editing
• Wordpress design/development
• Blog post layouts
• Social media graphics/video
• Front-end website development
• Email design/development

Lastly, this individual should be a driven, self-starter with the confidence and past-experience to work with their manager to analyze current processes, look for areas to improve and act upon those.

Requirements

To succeed at this position, you need to possess these skills and personal qualities:

• 4 to 6 years of experience working directly with interactive design and execution

• Strategic thinker, able to use past data to collaborate and create new interactive solutions across various platforms

• Approach the design process from the end-user perspective and uses that knowledge to enhance the overall user experience and prioritize usability

• Creative, modern design skills that can adhere to established brand standards using professional software suites (i.e. Adobe Creative Suite)

• Strong knowledge of the latest Bootstrap platform, HTML5 and SCSS and CSS.

• Strong social media platform engagement and familiarity

• Positive, energetic and driven. Need someone with the ability to take initiative and thrive within a fun team environment

The following are a plus:

• Strong understanding of browser technologies, standards support, and cross-browser coding
• Adherence to industry standard best practices for web design, user experience interactions, SEO optimizations, and front-end coding with HTML, CSS, and PH

Compensation

• Base Salary: $75,000 - $85,000
• FLSA Status: Exempt
• Bonus Type: Year End Discretionary
