Ricci Law Firm is Hiring an Investigator Near Fayetteville, NC

Ricci Law Firm is now accepting applications for the position of Investigator, in the area of Fayetteville, NC. Ricci Law Firm services the state of North Carolina, and has attorneys licensed for practice in Virginia, and South Carolina. Our office locations are in Greenville, Raleigh, New Bern, Durham, Jacksonville, Charlotte, Rocky Mount, Wilmington, and Fayetteville. Our investigators are the right hand of Ricci Law Firms Attorney’s, responding to time sensitive investigation needs as they arise, and ensuring attorneys have the information they need to evaluate cases from the most informed position possible.

To be a part of Ricci Law Firm’s investigative team, the candidate must have compassion, integrity, and excellent attention to detail. Our clients are often experiencing the most traumatic pain, emotional loss, or financial burden they have ever had to navigate, and the responsibility of the investigator is locate pertinent facts, whether good or bad for the case, and to report these findings in an accurate and objective manner.

In addition to the above, applicants must have a clean criminal record, good moral background, and professionalism inherently required in the industry of law. The successful candidate will be persuasive, approachable, and adaptable. Potential applicants, with greater than 5 years of investigation experience in the private sector, are strongly encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities

  • Investigate private MVA, Commercial MVA, Workers Compensation, and Property liability injury incidents
  • Interpret DMV 349, and other State and Federal Law Enforcement reports
  • Obtain witness statements and determine detailed facts and opinions regarding injury incidents
  • Determine through conversations with law enforcement, how fact finding occurred, and where errors or omissions may exist in the record
  • Have errors or omissions in LE reports addressed by officers or their respective LE Agency
  • Provide LE Agencies or Personnel with supplementary evidence
  • Social media investigations
  • Photograph and measure incident scenes, to include those on public roads
  • Record retrieval from courts, law enforcement agencies, law offices, and doctors offices
  • Responsible handling of personal and confidential information in accordance with DPPA, HIPPA, and other State and Federal regulation
  • Canvass scenes for witnesses, cameras, and other case-pertinent evidence
  • Submit FOIA, and other public record requests
  • Research DMV and other Governmental Records via forms or private access accounts
  • Preparing Affidavits, Exhibits, and NC AOC forms
  • Visit clients in-home, to sign retainers and other case-pertinent documents
  • Service of process (on rare occasions)
  • Maintain chain of custody records for evidence
  • Operate third party databases like Accurint and West Law, and enter results in case files
  • Accurately interpret and communicate raw data from third party databases
  • Driving an average of 200mi/week, with extremes near to 1000mi/week (on rare occasions)
  • After hours or weekend hours, for specific surveillance tasks (on rare occasions)

Requirements

  • MUST have 2 years investigation experience in the private sector -or- 4 years Law Enforcement, Military Police, or Intelligence experience
  • Basic understanding of civil law, and ability identify civil liability in the course of investigation
  • Proficency with Digital Cameras, Audio Recorders, and Computers
  • Ability to read and interpret legal documents, and statutes
  • Ability to work independently, and in a team setting
  • Strong written and verbal communications skills
  • Excellent critical thinking and problem solving ability
  • Bi-lingual preferred, but not required
  • Word, Excell, and PDF proficiencies
  • Litify, Cleo, Needles, or other Legal Case Management software proficiencies preferred, but not required
  • Must possess a valid North Carolina driver’s license

  • Salary is commensurate with education and experience
  • Vehicle and gas card are provided
