Rhode Island Coalition to End Homelessness is Hiring a Financial Analyst Near Providence, RI

Position Title: Financial Analyst

Supervised By: Chief Financial Officer

Position Type: Full Time (35 Hours Per Week); Salaried; Exempt

Compensation: $55,000 - $60,000 annually (dependant on experience) plus benefits (health insurance, 401k, life insurance)

Location: Providence, RI (Hybrid,Remote)

Responsibilities and Accountabilities:

  • Assist with the financial and administrative operations of the organization including accounts payable and receivable, deposits, accounting functions (month-end close), payroll including benefits, budget preparation, and cash flow oversight.
  • Helps prepare accurate and timely recording of all financial information including cash receipts and disbursements, Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable, and payroll and benefits.
  • Manages payroll information of a diverse workforce that is working in many different States and navigates various State tax information.
  • Responsible for bi-weekly payroll processing as well as 401k entry.
  • Helps prepare monthly P&L, Balance Sheet, cash flow, and supplemental schedules.
  • Manages all aspects of the annual audit as well as single audit if necessary, i.e. prepares schedules and journal entries, support of the 990 filing.
  • Responsible for the annual 1099 process.
  • Monitors the budgets of the grants and monitors contracts.
  • Utilizes various financial systems, payroll (Zenefits), accounting (QuickBooks), accounts payable (Bill.com), and timesheet system (Zenefits).
  • Responsible for the end to end processing of Medicaid billing and oversight of Medicaid billing.
  • Assist with the financial aspect of the Pay for Success program.
  • Cross train on work of other team members and provide coverage for them during absences.
  • Other duties assigned

Required Qualifications:

  • Baccalaureate degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or a related field
  • 2 years of experience in financial management, particularly with accounting and bookkeeping responsibilities.
  • Proficient in QuickBooks, Google Suite (Gmail, calendar, drive, docs, sheets, etc.), and Microsoft
  • Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
  • Self-starter with the ability to work independently in a fast-paced and chaotic environment.
  • Exceptional organizational skills, multi-tasking abilities, and attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain productive professional relationships, with experience working successfully with diverse populations.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Passion for ending homelessness and housing first principles
  • Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or a related field
  • Experience working with non-profit, federal programs, and/or HUD-funded programs (e.g.

Continuum of Care or Emergency Solutions Grant).

  • Lived experience of homelessness or housing instability.
  • Audit experience.
