Job Overview

The Collections Specialist is responsible for resolving business interruptions through the life-cycle of any of our client relationships by contacting clients to collect payments, settle accounts, and resolve account issues. The Collections Specialist updates and maintains accurate financial records in a fast-paced and high-volume environment. The ideal candidate for this position knows how to work a process, think outside the box, has a strong work-ethic, is goal-oriented, is a problem solver, works effectively as part of a team and handles disputes professionally.

What you’ll bring to the table: (Responsibilities) 

  • Manage your own book of business with a focus on resolving high value accounts quickly and professionally. Follow established company procedures and prioritize your workflow to increase productivity and efficiency.
  • Initiate and respond to a high-volume of calls, emails, or other correspondence to collect payments and settle accounts.
  • Organize all affected parties to execute problem resolutions structured within guidelines set by the company.
  • Track and process payment resolutions on client accounts.
  • Handle competing interests while resolving problems that maximize the return of the company’s investment.
  • Maintain a high focus on achieving the targets established by management.
  • Log all activity in Salesforce and other company systems; maintain accurate financial records that may include but is not limited to accounts receivable reports and records.
  • Support other departments with inquiries regarding clients in Recovery.

Do you have the right mix of ingredients: (Requirements)

  • High School diploma or equivalent education.
  • Minimum of three years’ experience in a combination of collections and customer service roles.
  • Experience in a Sales/Banking or Finance environment strongly preferred.
  • Strong computer skills, particularly Microsoft Office and Salesforce.
  • Strong negotiation skills.
  • Proven track record of delivering results.
  • Solution-driven with the ability to work independently within established procedures 
  • Excellent interpersonal skills –written and verbal communication, active listening, the ability to be persuasive.
  • Extremely well-organized and detailed oriented
