Nitel is Hiring a Collections Specialist Near Chicago, IL

the position

You have an intense curiosity; a passion for problem solving; a positive can-do attitude; as well as strong math, communications, and interpersonal skills. You will ensure Nitel’s customers are current according to their payment terms. You will field incoming inquiries, research disputes, and resolve them appropriately. You’re adept at tackling multiple tasks at once as you serve as the company’s resource for collecting revenue.

  • Manage all outstanding balances for client payments and reconcile all invoices for accounts receivables.
  • Contact customers regarding delinquent accounts and used skillful communication techniques and problem-solving strategies to effectively help them resolve overdue balances.
  • Work collaboratively with Account Management team to resolve any disputed claims in a timely fashion.
  • Maintain records of all collection accounts and monitor all receivables and post amounts on customer accounts.
  • Maintain records of contacts and attempted contacts with delinquent account customers.
  • Process and post customer payments.

skills you bring to the field

  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Accounting
  • 1-3 years of experience in collections or similar position, including relevant internship experience
  • Proficient in MS Office with an emphasis on MS Excel
  • Not afraid to walk, or run, the extra mile
  • A [healthy!] obsession to detail
  • Believes that teamwork makes the dream work
  • Sherlock Holmes type problem solver
  • A serious ability to multitask and manage time, as you can be pulled in many different directions
