Resurrection has an opening for a Donor Support Specialist in the Donor Relations division! The position is full-time, exempt and is located at the Leawood campus at 13720 Roe Ave. in Leawood, KS. Please see below for a full job description.

Job Summary

The Donor Development Support Specialist is the church’s ambassador to serve as the frontline contact with donors helping to execute initiatives focused on relationship-based donor development, serves as the communication project manager liaison lead, and helps to maintain the required administrative responsibilities. Initiatives include the annual stewardship campaign, special asks, capital campaigns, planned giving, and providing support within the Resurrection Foundation Board of Directors. As a member of the Donor Development Team, the Donor Development Support Specialist serves to help our donors achieve their generosity goals of supporting current ministry of the Church and to have a lasting impact through endowments.

Position-Specific

  • Execute named strategies for effective donor identification and cultivation, relationship building, discipleship, follow up and communication.
  • Serve as a liaison with donors as the first point of contact, answering questions, assisting donors with individual giving needs, responding to connection requests and ensuring accuracy with scheduled transaction and commitments.
  • Oversee the operational matters related to the office and daily business operations for both the Resurrection Donor Relations Team and the Resurrection Foundation including oversight of budgets and expenses, purchasing, mailings, expense reimbursements, contractual arrangements, coordinating room reservations, travel, and more as required while exercising professional discretion.
  • For the Resurrection Foundation, manage incoming correspondence, prepare and send donor acknowledgements letters, prepare and coordinate planned giving donor certificates, maintain a system to track estate gifts ensuring all proper paperwork and acknowledgements are completed, oversee the scholarship and grant process, and prepare Board Meeting packets and maintain minutes.
  • Pull and manage reports for donor analytics and assign connection requests for timely response.
  • Coordinate project management and communication initiatives for the Donor Relations and Resurrection Foundation Team through the RXP process that includes determining project needs, tracking timelines, helping ensure websites are maintained, initiating social media posts, updating printed materials, etc.
  • Assist with execution of donor invitation, education, awareness, and appreciation events, of which many are held at nights and on weekends, that includes oversight of registration, room set up, catering, procuring supplies, arranging tech, coordinating event materials and collateral, etc.
  • Maintain donor communication records.
  • Recruit, train, and support a team of volunteer ambassadors.
  • Other duties as assigned.

      Qualifications

      • Education Preferred: Bachelor’s Degree with emphasis in business, marketing, public relations, or related field
      • Proven Results in:

        • Ability to self-initiate and be goal driven to initiate donor contacts
        • Knowledge of development and marketing
        • Ability to maintain confidentiality
        • Excellent writing and speaking skills
        • Ability to relate well to people
        • Expertise and competency in Microsoft Office Suite
