Resorts World NYC is Hiring a Surveillance Technical Manager Near Jamaica, NY

Job Description

The Manager of Surveillance Technical is responsible for managing the date to day operations of the Surveillance Technical Unit. This position will also assist in the management of operational activities of the Resort World Surveillance Department to ensure the protections of guest, employees, assets and the integrity of the gaming activity.

Essential Duties

  • Install, operate, maintain, and repair surveillance technical equipment to include all systems used by surveillance team (e.g. facial recognition, point of sale system, incident report database system, access control system, alarm system, digital video management system, license plate reader system, close local area network and various system servers.)
  • Ensure that all cameras and other surveillance equipment outside of the surveillance room are working properly.
  • Make adjustments to cameras as needed, with regards to angles, lenses, mounts, wiring, and housings.
  • Assist in the planning, placement, and installation of cameras and support equipment into new or reconfigured casino and/or security areas.
  • Keep all documentation up to date relating the Site Maps, Maintenance Records and Surveillance Layouts.
  • Ensure surveillance equipment meets Resort World standards and meets or exceed New York State gaming commission requirements.
  • Schedule surveillance technical staff to ensure proper technical coverage including staffing for special projects.
  • Develop and conduct training of Surveillance staff on the use of technical surveillance equipment.
  • Research, evaluate and make recommendations or provide expertise in the procurement of technical investigative equipment.
  • Document and maintain detail records relating to all scheduling, coordinate service repairs, installations, removal of surveillance equipment and preventive maintenance.
  • Provide 24-hour emergency response to perform or facilitate emergency equipment repairs.
  • Catalog and inventory all surveillance technical equipment.
  • Troubleshoot CCTV issues from end device to head-end. Clean and maintain all surveillance equipment as needed.
  • Install new surveillance equipment as needed, using conduit, cable and video equipment; this is done adhering to all state and federal rules, regulations and laws.
  • Assist in the ordering and stocking of necessary cleaning supplies and spare parts for existing equipment.
  • Perform surveillance duties to ensure State and Federal gaming laws and policies and procedures are being maintained in games, slots, cashiers, and soft count rooms.
  • Work with safety as a priority and follows department and company safety standards.
  • Maintain relevant knowledge of industry through continuing education and training.
  • Perform any other job-related duties as assigned.

Essential responsibilities include moderate physical ability such as lift or maneuver at least fifty (50) pounds, and varied instances of sitting, standing/walking, working in confined spaces and/or repairing technical equipment. 

Language Skills:

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret documents, such as policy and procedure manuals, maintenance instructions, and other related documents. Ability to respond to common inquiries from other employees or guests. Fluency in English required, second language a plus. Ability to write detailed instructions and correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and group situations.

Mathematical Skills & Reasoning Ability:

Ability to compute mathematical calculations and analyze situations and also be detail oriented and precise. Ability to decipher various reports and maintain reports upon request.

  • The noise level in the work environment is typically moderate. When on the property or some back of house areas, the noise level increases to loud. Must be able to interact with internal and external guests in a professional manner.
  • Due to the unpredictable nature of the hospitality/entertainment industry, employees must be able to work varying schedules to reflect the business needs of the property.

Work/Educational Experience

  • Must be at least 18 years old, possess a high school or equivalent diploma, and have the ability to obtain the appropriate license pursuant to the New York State Lottery regulations.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in related field AND two (2) years experience in a supervisory position
    • OR Four (4) years experience in a management position
    • OR Two (2) years experience in a supervisory position within Resorts World
  • Six (6) years related surveillance system experience
  • Must have working knowledge of all necessary equipment, CCTV, cameras, monitors and recording devises.
  • Must have excellent PC skills in addition to in-depth knowledge of gaming operations/video lottery terminals and all related departments including Credit, Cage, Count Rooms, Promotions and Marketing, Electronic Cash and Redemption units, Technology Systems, Ancillary and Support Operations, and Security.
  • Must demonstrate abilities to establish workload priorities and balance diverse projects and the ability to maintain confidential information.
