This position will have the following consideration: Hybrid: Works regularly both Onsite (currently 3 days per week) and Remote. Job Description: The Accountant / Sr. Accountant reports to the Controller and is responsible for the company's overall accounting and reporting activities. Key Responsibilities
Assists with the company's overall accounting and reporting activities
Obtains and maintains a thorough understanding of the financial reporting and general ledger structure
Assists with the preparation of the annual audited consolidated financial statements and responds to requests from the external audit firm
Prepares audit schedules and audit support
Prepares the monthly financial statement package (e.g. consolidated financial package and/or stand-alone financial statement package for affiliates)
Prepares quarterly presentations for the corporate Board of Directors
Prepares schedules for the quarterly Board of Trustees' presentations
Assists the Controller with researching complex accounting and financial issues
Prepares month-over-month and year-to-date budget and prior year variance explanations for various reporting packages
Interaction with, Controller, CFO, and auditors
Responds to inquiries from the Controller regarding financial results
Supports Controller on ad hoc projects
Helps train current employees with new responsibilities and/or help onboard new employees
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance / Master's degree preferred
Knowledge and experience with partnerships and consolidation is a plus
2 years of prior experience in a corporate accounting and financial environment area a plus
Ability to multi-task, work under pressure and meet deadlines required
Willingness to work a flexible schedule required
Strong verbal and written communication skills required
Highest standards of accuracy and precision; highly organized
Ability to think creatively, highly driven and self-motivated
