RESCOM Environmental Corp (RESCOM) is seeking a full-time Archaeologist to join its growing nationwide environmental consulting team to work the front lines of cultural resource management. Office work will primarily take place remotely from the individual’s home office, however, overnight travel for fieldwork will be required.
RESCOM is a full-service environmental firm conducting nationwide property assessments and mitigations for such industries as telecommunications, real estate, and infrastructure. RESCOM provides environmental regulatory advice in the form of practical reports which protect clients from environmental liability.
Typical Job Duties:
Conduct site assessments.
Conduct and lead archaeological surveys and excavations.
Supervise field staff.
Collect data and document findings.
Create maps using GIS and Adobe software.
Conduct background research.
Create coherent, organized reports from background research and field findings.
Communicate with project teams to meet deadlines.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in Archaeology, Anthropology, or a related field.
Completion of an archaeological field school or similar training.
One year of professional experience leading field projects as a crew chief and/or field supervisor.
Ability to walk, stand, and dig for many hours.
Ability to carry equipment and supplies up to 40 pounds.
Tech savvy - GPS and computer literate.
Valid driver’s license.
Preferred Qualifications:
Knowledge of NEPA and Section 106 guidelines.
Experience writing professional archaeology reports.
Pay and Benefits:
Starting pay for this position is $20-25 per hour with overtime available at time and a half.
Benefits include medical insurance and paid time off in the form of vacation pay, personal time, and paid holidays. Staff are eligible for medical insurance on day one and the monthly premium is paid in full by RESCOM.
