The Role:

The Site Manager serves as the central point of contact for all plant operations within their designated area. They oversee both supervisors and hourly employees, collaborating closely with support staff to meet established key performance indicators. With a focus on adherence to company protocols and procedures, the Site Manager spearheads continuous improvement efforts, upholds safety protocols, and maintains quality standards to meet both Resco and customer expectations.

In this role, you will:

  • Direct the cost-efficient manufacturing of products, ensuring adherence to quality standards across all stages from material preparation to production, finished goods, shipping, maintenance, QA, and office support.
  • Delegate responsibilities to Management Team members and their respective departments.
  • Manage production scheduling effectively through delegation and thorough review processes.
  • Strategically handle material requirements to optimize inventory turnover and minimize on-hand stock levels.
  • Communicate plant performance metrics to upper management, providing insightful analysis and recommendations.
  • Assume ultimate responsibility for the workforce across all shifts, fostering a culture of accountability and performance excellence.
  • Gauge and enhance plant performance through comprehensive review of daily QAD reports, including analysis of individual cost centers, scrap reports, overtime usage, raw material consumption, and shipping deliveries.
  • Provide leadership in problem resolution, facilitating swift improvements and fostering stronger working relationships among team members.
  • Actively participate in plant safety initiatives and ensure compliance with safety regulations, including OSHA standards.
  • Collaborate closely with site QA, corporate management, and sales teams to address customer needs and effectively manage complaints.
  • Prioritize maintenance and preventive maintenance needs in coordination with the Maintenance Manager, ensuring optimal operational efficiency.
  • Mentor and develop employee performance through comprehensive training programs, performance reviews, and disciplinary actions when necessary.
  • Maintain strict compliance with established company policies and procedures at all times.
  • Assist in the implementation of LEAN concepts and drive continuous improvement activities throughout the organization.
  • Identify and spearhead initiatives for continuous improvements in processes, equipment, manpower utilization, and raw material management.

We require you to have:

  • Minimum of ten years' manufacturing experience, including four years in upper-level supervision.
  • Proficiency in manufacturing equipment, production planning, and financial controls.
  • Strong communication skills with employees at all levels.
  • Excellent critical thinking and task prioritization abilities.

It’s helpful if you also have:

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office; experience with other software.
  • Experience with Business Management software such as QAD, MRP, SAP.
  • Previous experience in refractories and/or ceramics.
