Under general guidance of the Production Supervisor, deliver and pick up products to/from businesses, vendors, and other consumers on a pre-determined route.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Operate company vehicle and complete all assigned deliveries efficiently and safely
• Load, deliver, and pick up electrical equipment from venders and customers
• Record each delivery and pick up on a Delivery Tracker
• Control and submit all delivery and pick up paperwork to the appropriate department
• Obtain signatures from customers on all PODs
• Maintain neat, clean and professional personal appearance and maintain vehicle appearance in a professional manner.
• Establish and maintain excellent customer service.
• Communicate with customers; confirming delivery times, delivery addresses, and order details
• Identifying and monitoring customers’ needs
• Report to management all problems, competitive intelligence, accidents, and delays as they occur during the route.
• Perform pre and post trip vehicle inspections, document deficiencies, and ensure all safety items are in good working order
• Operating a forklift, pallet jack, and other warehouse equipment
• Follow all safety rules and report any accidents or injuries promptly to management
• Assist with inventory and general housekeeping
• Complying with all DOT and OSHA regulations
• Ensuring all safety rules are strictly observed
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications – Education and Experience

• High School Diploma
• Valid California Driver’s License 
• Minimum of one year route driver experience
• Ability to recognize problems and to obtain and provide information
• Strong written and verbal communication skills to complete compliance documentation accurately and neatly
• Demonstrated External Focus
• Basic computer skills to include both MS Word & Excel
• Flexibility and work overtime as needed

Desired Qualifications

• Knowledge of low voltage electric equipment
• 2 years of experience in a related field OR special combination of education and experience demonstrated accomplishments
• Demonstrated Continuous Improvement Successes
• Quality assurance and/or inspection experience

WORK ENVIRONMENT

• Must meet all physical qualification standards imposed by regulation for drivers.
• Ability to routinely lift 25 - 50 lbs., occasionally lift 51 - 80 lbs., and occasionally push up to 200 lbs. with the aid of material handling equipment
• Extensive sitting and vibration while driving for up to 8 hours
• Work outdoors in temperatures ranging from 40 to over 100 degrees. Frequent bending, stooping, crouching, reaching, grasping, feeling and repetitive motions required to lift, push, pull, drive
• Occasional climbing, balancing, kneeling, crawling, pushing and pulling
• Specific vision abilities required by this job include close, distant and color vision; depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
