Overview

The Automation Engineer will be responsible for the design, testing, deployment, and maintenance of Repligen’s internal automation strategy and infrastructure. The engineer will have direct site and project support responsibilities within the Chromatography and Proteins division of Repligen. She or he will be expected to contribute towards Repligen’s automation, digitization, and digital transformation efforts at the site level. The successful candidate will actively work with all levels of personnel in Engineering, Manufacturing, Facilities, Quality Assurance, Quality Control, and R&D departments. The job is based at our Waltham, MA facility. Minimal travel required, if any.

Responsibilities

• Program and troubleshoot PLCs, HMIs, SCADA, and MES solutions
• Develop IIoT-centric solutions for data acquisition
• Lead efforts to digitize existing manufacturing and documentation processes
• Lead digital transformation of operations through leveraging of operational data
• Develop, maintain, and execute design documents, technical evaluations, test plans, and validation protocols for Automation and OT assets
• Provide automation expertise and guidance to internal and external design teams
• Function as automation subject matter expert (SME) for the entire site
• Provide basic automation training to internal customers (MFG, QA, FAC, etc.)
• Specify, deploy, and commission instrumentation and control (I&C) devices

EDUCATIONAL EXPERIENCE

• Degree in Electrical Engineering, Software Engineering, Computer Science, or related field preferred
  • Relevant experience in the design and maintenance of process control and/or data acquisition systems will be considered in lieu of a degree
• 3 years of work experience required
