The Payroll Clerk is responsible for accurately processing the organization's payroll and ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations. This role involves meticulous attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to maintain confidentiality.
**Essential Duties and Responsibilities:**
- Process bi-weekly or payroll for employees accurately and timely.
- Calculate wages, deductions, overtime, and bonuses as per company policies and relevant regulations.
- Verify attendance, hours worked, and pay adjustments.
- Prepare and distribute payroll checks or direct deposits.
- Address payroll-related queries from employees in a timely and professional manner.
- Maintain accurate payroll records and employee information.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations and tax requirements.
- Assist in preparing payroll reports, summaries, and analyses for management.
- Collaborate with HR and finance departments to ensure accurate payroll data.
- Stay updated on payroll best practices and changes in regulations.
