Rehabilitation and Neurological Service, LLC is Hiring a Medical receptionist Near Huntsville, AL

We are seeking a self-starting, experienced individual to join our clinic as a Medical Scheduler. As part of our administrative team, you assist patients in making, altering, and canceling medical appointments, ensuring patients have access to the patient portal, services, and treatments they need.

You will accurately record patient information, prevent double-bookings, and route patient calls to the correct department or individual.

This position requires you to pay close attention to detail, impeccable phone etiquette, and working knowledge of common medical terminology.

Our ideal candidate has prior receptionist experience, especially in a medical setting, coupled with superb data entry and communication skills.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Answer patient calls, field questions, and assist patients in making new medical appointments.
  • Change or cancel appointments as necessary.
  • Route calls to the appropriate department or individual.
  • Verifies detailed insurance benefits, medical necessity, and authorization / referral guidelines, consistently prioritizing and following the established verification processes.
  • Handle inbound and outbound calls in a timely manner.
  • Communicates outstanding documentation requests, required account follow-up, and payor issues to the appropriate contacts.

Requirements and Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED certificate.
  • Knowledge of common medical terminology.
  • Prior receptionist experience, ideally in a medical clinic environment.
  • Excellent communication skills and phone etiquette.
