Regions Hospital is Hiring a Clinical Research Manager Near Saint Paul, MN

We have an exciting opportunity for a Clinical Research Manager to join our Critical Care Research Center. The Clinical Research Manager works with the Critical Care Research Center (CCRC) Director to lead the department. The manager is responsible for management and oversight of daily operations for the CCRC. The Center oversees all research activities for the Emergency Medical Services department, the Emergency Department, the Burn Center, the Surgical Intensive Care Unit, the Adult and Pediatric Level 1 Trauma programs, Surgery, ENT, Plastic Surgery, Cardiology, and the Hospital Medicine program. This individual will work collaboratively with the CCRC director and research staff at the HealthPartners Institute to develop and implement new investigator-initiated and industry sponsored trials across the organization. This position will manage and supervise the daily work of clinical research supervisors. A primary job function is to develop and maintain effective working relationships with clinical and administrative staff, as well as applicable regulatory bodies and sponsors. This individual may assist in scientific manuscript preparation, submission, and grant writing.


Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in health-related field
  • Minimum of 3 years supervisory/management experience.
  • Clinical research professional certification preferred (ACRP or SoCRA)
  • Certification/licensure as a health-care professional (EMT-B, EMT-P, emergency/critical care RN, or PA) strongly desired.
  • Current valid driver’s license
  • Minimum of 1 year of clinical research experience.


Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Knowledge of and ability to adhere to good clinical practices (GCP)
  • Leadership experience in clinical research setting with a strong understanding of processes and procedures related to adverse event reporting, data management, regulatory guidelines, IRB submission and study coordination. Proven ability to form strong and trusted relationships with key stakeholders including external sponsors, internal customers, departmental and other clinical staff and leaders across the organization. Ability to develop and oversee multiple project plans, including clinical trials budget development and trial feasibility
  • Ability to effectively manage clinical research staff
  • Knowledge of statistical methodology and experimental design; able to assist in the development of clinical investigational plans
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and oral
  • Proven process/project management experience; ability to objectively evaluate effectiveness of current practices; where appropriate, implement change within the organization.
  • Ability to problem solve, delegate and handle confidential information. Required computer proficiency: MS Office, Internet, electronic medical records, clinical trials databases, and clinical trials management software.
