The Public Health Laboratory is seeking to fill a supervisory position responsible for the Health Informatics Unit in its Infectious Disease Laboratory (IDL) section. The position will supervise five full-time and one part-time staff members who support the Laboratory Information System (LIS). This position helps to guide and implement process improvements with regards to the LIS and electronic messaging of laboratory data. This position will work closely with staff from Minnesota Information Technology to ensure that the Laboratory Information System and other health informatics systems are developed in accordance with MDH, industry and CDC standards, and will ensure that electronic security standards are maintained. Occasional weekend or after-hours work may be required. This position works is an integral part of the Infectious Disease Laboratory leadership team and will work in close collaboration with all IDL units. All positions within the MDH Public Health Lab work to increase awareness, learning and understanding of diversity, equity and inclusion, and actively engage in activities to promote an inclusive work environment for all.
