This position assists in administering the development, production and preparation of graphic signage for bus stops, Light Rail stations, Park-N-Rides and RTD facilities.

This position is also responsible for planning and coordination of departmental maintenance activities and direct employee supervision.

Duties & Responsibilities :

ESSENTIAL :

Conducts staff recruiting and oversight : conducts interviews, hiring, assigns work, trains, coaches, and counsels employees to ensure consistent application of Employee Guidelines, processes, and procedures.

Conducts performance reviews, and holds employees accountable for optimal performance of their responsibilities.

  • Coordinates bus / rail operations with municipal engineers to ensure correct transit signage, lane usage, and transit facility access and represents the organization in the planning and implementation of major construction project detours.
  • Performs as assistant project administrator for the Bus Stop Transit Inventory System and its interface with computer assisted schedule information, automatic vehicle location system, GPS and GIS mapping system.

Creates, analyzes and interprets Oracle and GPS / GIS system reports and data.

Responsible for RTD compliance with local, state and federal rules regarding signage. Oversees bus stop location / placement, rail platform signage installation, facilities signage location, etc.

to ensure compliance with safety, security, reliability and accessibility requirements.

  • Collaborates with engineers, contractors and internal staff to design bus facilities and bus / light rail interchange stations and park-n-rides.
  • Coordinates with Service Planning and Scheduling, Marketing, Public Information, Street Supervision and Dispatch (and other internal and external partners) in planning and implementing bus stop changes, special event detours, construction detours and service changes.

Qualifications :

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • A minimum of three years of experience in bus or rail transit industry; planning and scheduling, or traffic engineering preferred.
  • A minimum of one year of supervisory experience.
  • Proficiency with the Americans with Disabilities Act Amended Act (ADA) requirements for transit accessibility.
  • Proficient in the understanding of construction site plans.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, orally and in writing.
  • Ability to use sound judgment.
  • Ability to manage time and workload effectively which includes planning, organizing, and prioritizing with attention to details.
  • Availability for on call work 24 / 7.
  • An equivalent combination of education, experience, knowledge, skills, abilities.
