Position Title: Professional Learning Specialist (with an Area of Expertise in Literacy)

Location: Galesburg, Illinois / Various: Henderson, Knox, Mercer, & Warren Counties

SUMMARY

This position is responsible for ​​providing high-quality instructional leadership and job-embedded professional learning for the ROE #33 Region serviced by the PD Consortium, which includes the following counties - Henderson, Knox, Mercer, & Warren - as well as some statewide events. This also includes leading school district improvement and curriculum planning and providing content-related leadership and instructional coaching expertise.

This role will provide/assist in the development of professional learning delivered by instructional coaches to teachers throughout the PD Consortium. As well as develop trainings that support curriculum, standards, instruction, and assessment. The role will also support the evaluation of curricular program effectiveness by collecting, analyzing, and reporting findings.

QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE, & CRITICAL SKILLS

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Professional Educator License
  • Three or more years of successful teaching experience
  • Previous experience in a leadership role, coaching role, and curriculum development preferred
  • Experience planning and delivering adult learning opportunities
  • Demonstrate exemplary classroom practices and possess a deep understanding of learning theories/content knowledge
  • Knowledge of Google Suite and Microsoft Office programs including Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, etc., and Virtual Meeting Platforms.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 20 lbs.
  • Ability to push/pull up to 10 lbs.
  • Must have excellent oral and written communication skills and an acceptable/courteous manner.
  • Understanding and awareness of multicultural needs
  • Ability to maintain a positive and collaborative relationship/attitude across all ROE programs.

ABOUT THE ROE

The Regional Office of Education is an intermediate agency between the Illinois State Board of Education and local school districts. The Regional Office of Education #33 works with nine districts across the four counties: Henderson, Knox, Mercer, and Warren. We have eight programs and nine different services, with over 200 employees throughout the four counties. These programs and services can be anything from parenting classes and professional development for area educators to bus driver training, fingerprinting, and much more. Pay: $50,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year
