SUMMARY:
Under close supervision, make repairs to airline seats and subassemblies and/or to Monuments: Lavatories, Galleys and other interior components according to specifications and blueprints.
JOB FUNCTIONS:
Repair aircraft seating, including passenger and crew seats.
Repair interior monuments (galleys, lavatories and class dividers), overhead bins and side walls.
Disassemble components, determine malfunctions & make repairs
Read inspection reports & rework instructions
Read blueprints to determine type of repair, tools required, and to plan sequence of operations.
Read Schematics
Sheet metal fabrication to drawings
Composite and laminate repairs.
Reassemble components to meet company, customer and FAA standards.
Accurately read and follow schematics / blueprints and work orders.
Use bonding materials, fillers and compounds to make repairs
Plumbing repair
Read and understand blueprints, CMM & IPCs
Painting
Surface preparation
As Necessary, performs other related duties of which the above are representative.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

MINIMUM EDUCATION AND TRAINING:
None required
A&P License a plus
MINIMUM DIRECTLY RELATED JOB EXPERIENCE:
Experience using hand tools
Experience using power tools
Experience using finishing tools
KNOWLEDGE, ABILITIES, AND SKILLS DESIRED:
Prior Aerospace/FAA experience a plus
Prior Aircraft Interior experience a plus
Ability to disassemble components and make repairs
Knowledge of theoretical and practical hand and air tool usage
Read and process inspection reports, rework instructions, shop travelers
Read mechanical blueprints or job orders to determine type of repair, tools required, and plan sequence of operations.
Ability to follow strict instructions, CMMs, and work in a time-sensitive environment to meet deadlines.
Read Schematics
Ability to inspect components for defects or damage
Metal fabrication & repair
Knowledge of plastic trim and vacuum formed plastic assembly
Experience with bonding materials
Experience with spray adhesives
Sheet metal fabrication to drawings
Metal fabrication & repair
Lubricates moving parts to verify conformance to specifications.
Detect defects or damage
Repair electrical wiring / components
PHYSICAL MOTION
Walks/Stands at least 80% of each workday.
Other motions: stooping, reaching bending, pushing, pulling, repetitive motion hand –wrist; sitting; fingering; grasping; feeling; hearing; talking; handling; seeing.
