Regency Enterprise Services LLC is Hiring a Floor Technician Near St. Louis, MO

Description

Floor Technicians clean floors and carpeted areas for large facilities and organizations, such as hospitals, businesses, schools, and gymnasiums. This job involves identifying damage or areas in need of repairs and organizing supplies and equipment. Floor technicians work primarily indoors, although they can work in a variety of different settings depending on the organization they work for. This job is well suited to people who can work competently under minimal supervision, who have the strength and stamina to lift medium to heavy equipment and spend long hours on their feet, and who can follow instructions clearly and work to a set schedule.

Reports to: Shift Supervisor and Site Manager

Typical duties:

  1. Perform cleaning/maintenance of all floors: tile, concrete, carpet, brick.
  2. Complete work assignments in a timely manner. 
  3. Utilize the appropriate chemicals and supplies according to procedure.
  4. Use and maintain equipment properly. 
  5. Operate and maintain all equipment correctly and safely 
  6. Observe safety precautions at all times, uses safety signs “wet floor” 
  7. Ability to work with minimal supervision 
  8. Reports safety hazards as appropriate 
  9. Perform other duties as assigned 

Requirements

Professional Requirements:

  1. Adhere to dress code, appearance is neat and clean. 
  2. Complete monthly/annual safety training requirements. 
  3. Report to work on time and as scheduled. 
  4. Wear identification while on duty. 
  5. Maintain regulatory requirements; state, federal and local regulations. 
  6. Represent the organization in a positive and professional manner at all times. 
  7. Comply with all policies and standards regarding ethical business practices. 
  8. Communicate the mission, ethics and goals of the organization. 
  9. Participate in performance and continuous quality improvement activities. 
  10. Attend regular staff and safety meetings.

Minimum Qualifications (Education/Experience):

Required – High School Diploma

Preferred – One year of floor technician or janitorial/custodian experience.

Preferred – One year of experience operating floor care or motorized equipment.

Listening skills – strong active listening skills help floor technicians follow instructions clearly and understand what is required of them before beginning a task.

Attention to detail – floor technicians ensure that the area they are managing is cleaned thoroughly, so attention to detail is a key aspect of the role

Time management – this job requires the ability to complete tasks in a timely manner and to set schedules, so applicants need good time management skills

Physical stamina – floor technicians spend most of their workday on their feet, operating cleaning equipment so good physical strength and stamina is a must

Mechanical skills – this job involves using, driving and charging floor cleaning equipment and tools, so applicants must be familiar with mechanical equipment

Physical Requirements: 

  • Employees may experience the following physical demands during their work shift;
  • Standing and/or walking (75 – 80%)
  • Bending, kneeling, squatting, and/or stooping.
  • Pulling or Pushing Carts or Flatbeds.
  • Exposure to wind, rain, cold, and heat
