Licensed Practical Nurse with knowledge of chemical dependency and rehabilitation. This individual is a member of the treatment team providing professional level nursing care to patients under minimal supervision and consultation. This is a complex position which directs and guides activities on the detox unit and assignments of ancillary personnel assigned to the unit and shift. This individual is exposed to various and unpredictable situations (i.e. patient behavior). Provides nursing care according to physician/provider orders, provides nursing care in conformance with established standards and nursing policies. Performs accurate ongoing nursing assessments, educates patients on medical tests, procedures, and medications. Accurately administers medications and documents the same, maintains accurate inventory of controlled substances, and the ability to work with male and female adults a substance abuse/dual diagnosed population. This position is a day shift position.
