What You Can Expect Working in the Operations Support Specialist Position

The Operations Support Specialist (OSS) will develop, document, support and maintain estimates, quotes, reports and operational metrics. This position provides continued customer support throughout the life of a project. The OSS coordinates activities to ensure that goals and objectives are accomplished within the prescribed time frame and funding parameters, by performing the following duties:

Responsibilities

• Reviews project proposals or plans to determine time frame, funding limitations, procedures for accomplishing project, and allotment of available resources to various phases of the project.
• Prepares interim and completion project reports for management, customer, or others.
• Create and work from detailed work plans, schedules, project estimates and status reports.
• Reviews and/or resolves service problems to ensure minimum costs and prevent operational delays.
• Prepare estimates and budget cost by reading floor plans and speaking with external customers.
• Reviews project proposals and customer purchase orders to confirm agreement in scope, schedule, and budget.
• Serves as primary contact for internal and external customers.
• Evaluates designs for accuracy and changes, specifications and drawing releases.
• Promote and hold others accountable for a safe working environment.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university; or two years experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Reading and interpretation of construction drawings, specifications, and proposals
• High level of analytical/critical thinking
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office
• High level of communication across departments and with Leadership.
• Valid Driver’s License
• Ability to get a Passport
• Ability to get a TWIC card

Preferred Qualifications

• Knowledge of manufacturing, construction or program management
• Knowledge of Inventory, order processing software such as Sage
• Knowledge of estimating software
