Activ8 Recruitment & Solutions is Hiring a Design Release Engineer - Automotive Parts Manufacturer (#33333) Near Warren, MI

A global electronics parts manufacturing company is currently seeking a motivated Design Release Engineer to join their facility to the Warren, Michigan area. The ideal candidate will have 5 years’ work experience in component design and product development, and the ability to interface effectively with customers and suppliers. This is a full-time, direct hire position with hybrid working style.

Design Release Engineer Responsibilities Include:

  • Design and product development for electronics that used in automobile
  • Develop and maintain engineering drawings, schematics, and Bill of Materials
  • Interface with customers regarding design reviews, potential changes, approval, and manufacturing feasibility
  • Responsible for research and development of new markets, respond to customer claims, conducts competition analysis
  • Responsible for proposing demonstration of products to existing and potential clients based on their needs while collaborating with outside sales representatives
  • Conduct market research, competition analysis, product life evaluation studies, and create marketing strategies
  • Responsible for budgeting, planning, processing sales forecasts, overseeing quotations, price negotiations
  • Participate in meetings regarding project status with both internal departments and outside customers
  • Assist management in design department process improvement and performance analysis
  • Responsible for technical support to the client including assistance with quality issues
  • Other duties as assigned

Design Release Engineer Requirements Include:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field preferred, OR equivalent work experience
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in Design, Product, or Release Engineering preferred
  • Familiarity with APQP, PPAP. FMEA or Supplypower.com related programs preferred
  • Familiarity with GM system preffered
  • Ability to read, interpret, and improve engineering drawings and schematics
  • Strong communication and collaboration ability in a multicultural environment
  • Good problem-solving, time management, and multitasking skills
  • While performing the duties of this job you may be required to intermittently sit, stand, walk, lift up to 25 pounds, lift in excess of 25 pounds with a lift assist, climb stairs, use hands to handle or feel parts/equipment, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, crouch, bend at the waist, talk and hear. You may also be required to use close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and peripheral vision.
