Overview: The Inventory Control Specialist is responsible for overseeing and managing all aspects of inventory within the company. This role involves ensuring accurate inventory levels, implementing inventory control procedures, coordinating with various departments, and optimizing inventory turnover to meet operational needs efficiently.

Responsibilities:

  • Inventory Management:
  • Monitor and maintain accurate inventory levels to meet demand and prevent stockouts or overstock situations.
  • Conduct regular inventory audits to verify stock levels and identify discrepancies.
  • Implement inventory control measures to minimize shrinkage, damages, and losses.
  • Utilize inventory management software to track stock movements, update inventory records, and generate reports.
  • Receiving and Shipping:
  • Coordinate receiving activities, including inspecting incoming shipments, verifying contents against purchase orders, and recording receipts.
  • Organize and manage the storage of incoming inventory, ensuring proper placement and labeling for easy retrieval.
  • Facilitate outbound shipments, including picking, packing, and preparing orders for delivery or transfer.
  • Inventory Analysis and Forecasting:
  • Analyze inventory data and trends to forecast demand, anticipate stock needs, and prevent shortages or excess inventory.
  • Collaborate with sales, purchasing, and production teams to align inventory levels with sales forecasts and production schedules.
  • Identify slow-moving or obsolete inventory items and recommend strategies for liquidation or disposal.
  • Process Improvement:
  • Continuously evaluate and improve inventory management processes to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and cost-effectiveness.
  • Implement best practices for inventory control, including cycle counting, stock rotation, and inventory optimization techniques.
  • Identify opportunities for automation or technology integration to streamline inventory management workflows.
  • Compliance and Documentation:
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, industry standards, and company policies related to inventory management and control.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of inventory transactions, adjustments, and discrepancies.
  • Assist with internal and external audits by providing inventory records, reports, and supporting documentation.
  • Communication and Collaboration:
  • Liaise with cross-functional teams, including purchasing, logistics, finance, and sales, to coordinate inventory-related activities and address issues proactively.
  • Communicate effectively with suppliers and vendors to resolve delivery discrepancies, quality issues, or other inventory-related concerns.
  • Provide training and guidance to staff members involved in inventory management processes to ensure adherence to established procedures.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or related field (preferred).
  • Proven experience in inventory management, logistics, or related field.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data, identify trends, and make data-driven decisions.
  • Proficiency in inventory management software/systems (e.g., ERP systems, WMS, RFID) and MS Excel.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in inventory tracking and record-keeping.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills for collaborating with internal teams and external partners.
  • Knowledge of inventory control principles, best practices, and industry standards.
  • Familiarity with regulatory requirements and compliance standards related to inventory management.
  • Problem-solving abilities to resolve inventory-related issues and implement process improvements.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $60,000.00 per year
