Position Summary

Reporting to the Plant Manager, the Test Engineer Manager plans, directs, and coordinates test engineering needs as it relates to production and new product introductions. With a customer driven focus this position directly manages a team of approximately ten test engineering professionals. The Test Engineer Manager must communicate with employees on all levels to ensure that the company’s overall goals of quality and production are met to the highest standards.

Essential Job Functions

• Strategically set the direction of the test engineering department in collaboration with the plant manager with consideration for internal customers and cross functional stakeholders.
• Scope test engineering project needs and provide estimated dates of completion to cross-functional leadership team.
• Assesses, plans, and implements Automated Test Equipment (ATE) systems platform design to ensure proper system capacity, viable technology life cycles, selection of equipment and software to meet product family features and functions.
• Develops monthly metrics, generates regular reports and corrective action plans if needed.
• Ensures reliability & maximum service up-time of all active test equipment.
• Research and recommend new test technologies, and approves the new methods of test engineering.
• Responsible for mentoring, coaching, and talent development within the test engineering department.

Minimum Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in electronic engineering or related discipline; Master’s preferred.
• 10 years of related work experience; 2 years in a leadership role preferred.
• 3 years of Engineering experience in electronic hardware and software.
• 3 years of working knowledge of Test application software such as National Instruments LabView and LabView Teststand.
• Demonstrated ability to build collaborative relationships internally and externally – effectively influencing, developing, and motivating people.
