The Data Development, Insights & Strategy team is a highly focused effort to lead digital-first execution and transformation at Red Hat leveraging data strategically for our customers, partners, and associates.

We are looking for strong engineers, who can lead the technology and design of significant parts of RedHat’s Data Development Platform for creating next generation product & customer 360 applications. In this role, you will be the voice of Red Hat's technical authority, creating and delivering features/ capabilities around our Product and Customer 360 applications built on our master data management platform that helps Red Hat’s business teams deliver delightful customer experience. As part of the development process you will have the opportunity to work collaboratively with members of DDIS, finance, operations, sales, marketing, and product.

What you will do

• Work closely with the Director & Manager o Data Management team to define & execute technical strategy 
• Lead the technical team by example adopting open development practices.
• Support engineering team to foster and deliver in an inner-source manner 
• Collaborate with others to design the right data solutions and clear obstacles for engineering team
• Mentor software engineers on appropriate data solutions for features, coding techniques, and tools
• Perform key people leader responsibilities including developing and coaching engineers to support career growth.

What you will bring

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field.
• 5 years of experience designing and building data pipelines, data products and systems

• 12 yrs of hands-on experience with software development and directly led and developed PaaS, SaaS and/or On-prem products.
• 6 yrs of hands-on working experience in Kubernetes and/or container technology space with demonstrable contributions building microservices.
• Strong experience with big data technologies such as Spark and/or Kafka.
• Demonstrated efficiency of one of the programing languages (Go, Python, Java and/or JavaScript) 
• Hands on technical expertise in relational database systems like SQL Server, Redshift, Oracle, Big Query. Expert in SQL
• Demonstrated experience in building and maintaining data pipelines using Redshift, S3, and/or snowflake.
• Self-motivated with a strong sense of ownership and a proactive team player, working quickly and accurately under pressure and time constraints with minimal supervision. Ability to understand and participate in the domain and be part of the core team getting it done as an active and effective contributor. Have a voracious appetite to learn and grow and a willingness to make significant contributions to the wider goals of the company
• Broad understanding of emerging industry tools and best practices around data system & architectures to influence business and drive change to aid data informed execution.
