Red Dot Corporation is Hiring a Coordinator Near Puyallup, WA

Description

Red Dot Corporation, the leading producer of premium mobile HVAC units and components for heavy-duty commercial and military vehicles, is recruiting for the following position :

Summary Description :

The primary responsibility of the Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) Coordinator will be to review incoming PPAP requests from customers, coordinates all PPAP activities with the required departments and submits the final PPAP to the customer.

Flows PPAP requirements to suppliers as necessary and coordinates incoming PPAP information from suppliers. Files PPAP documents electronically, tracks Red Dot approval of supplier PPAPs and tracks customer approval for Red Dot PPAP submissions to the customers

Job Duties and Responsibilities (Essential Functions) :

  • Maintains a database of all PPAP requirements, due dates and submission levels
  • Works with engineering to understand all customer requirements listed on the drawings
  • Communicates required activities to all departments within Red Dot and to suppliers and tracks completion of these activities
  • Electronically files PPAP elements on the network server as they are received from other Red Dot departments and suppliers
  • Compiles the PPAP documents and submits them to the customer electronically
  • Tracks the customer approval of the PPAP and communicates any customer feedback to the necessary personnel within Red Dot and when necessary to our supplier.
  • Assists with environmental compliance within our supply chain in conjunction with our compliance manager.
  • Assists with other QA Team activities including ISIR’s and Receiving Inspection.
  • Other duties as assigned.

  • Act as an ambassador and project a good company image at all times maintaining a positive, solution-oriented approach.
  • Is knowledgeable of company policies and quality procedures.
  • Ensures all areas are maintained in accordance with company policy, state, federal and regulating entities.
  • Is aware of and actively supports the achievement of departmental goals. Implement new company initiatives as assigned.
  • Provide internal and on-site customer support and problem solving as a work product / services expert. Make recommendations to management regarding solutions.
  • Able to work effectively both individually and in a team with minimal supervision; able to make decisions using own initiative based on company policy and regulating entities.

Give regular updates to direct supervisor regarding progress and non-routine occurrences that may disrupt work schedule.

Ensure knowledge of the appropriate safety, security and environmental revisions. Handle relevant equipment with care, being concerned with safety and security.

Immediately report safety concerns to Supervisor / Lead.

  • Ensure a professional appearance, use professional verbiage and maintain appropriate body language.
  • Ability to manage multiple and varied tasks in a fast-paced, high-volume regulated environment applying strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to analyze issues, troubleshoot, problem-solve and effectively and efficiently make decisions.
  • Strong communication skills with external and internal personnel to include :
  • Active listening skills; ability to read, write and communicate effectively in English.
  • Ability to clearly explain technical subjects to internal and external personnel.
  • Strive for clarity and for alleviation of tension when the need arises.
  • Able to be effective in a wide range of cultural groups and cross-cultural relationships and have the ability to communicate clearly to non-native speakers.
  • Able to work in a progressive, fast-paced environment and amongst multiple interruptions and competing demands.
  • Continue own education by staying informed of industry trends and learning new skills when possible.

Requirements

Education

High school diploma or equivalent required.

Experience

  • Knowledge of the PPAP process, preferred
  • Strong technical background in automotive / aerospace engineering or commensurate experience.
  • Excellent written and oral communications skills. Must be able to communicate and work well with personnel from the quality department as well as with other internal customers, external customers and suppliers.
  • Strong organizational and record keeping skills.
  • Ability to work with a minimum of supervision.
  • Ability to read and understand drawings, specifications and assembly test procedures.
  • Good working knowledge of SPC preferred
  • Experienced in the use of common office computer applications such as Word, Excel and Access.

Salary Grade for this role is as follows :

Min : $26.00 / hour

Mid : $28.00 / hour

Max : $30.00 / hour

Subject to all local, state and federal regulatory limits

Salary grade levels and placement are all based on a number of factors, including but not limited to : applicable experience, education, skill set, market.
