Reading Crane & Engineering is Hiring a Collections Specialist Near Reading, PA

Due to continued growth, Reading Crane & Engineering, A Flatiron Crane Operating Company is looking for an Collections Specialist to join their highly skilled team. Feel a great sense of pride and ownership as you are seen as the expert that helps keep businesses running.

Collections Specialist

We are looking for a competent Collection Specialist, a newly created position due to growth, to contact clients and collect outstanding payments. You will strike a balance between maintaining trustful relationships and ensuring timely payments.

The Collection Specialist should exhibit professionalism and trustworthiness. You should have excellent communication and negotiation skills, as well as an ability to work independently.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Cultivate relationships with customers and salespeople, engineers and project managers to achieve the desired collections results.
  • Take actions to encourage timely payments by contacting customers before invoices are past due.
  • Monitor A/R aging and follow up on past due invoices, and on account payments.
  • Perform D&B credit checks on all new customers to establish credit worthiness and credit limits.
  • Update Vista with account status and collections efforts on weekly basis.
  • Resolve billing and customer credit issues.
  • Report on collection activity and AR status.
  • Provide supporting documentation for audits.
  • Participate and support special projects as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as a Collection Specialist or similar role
  • Knowledge of billing procedures and collection techniques
  • Competency in Excel, Outlook and ERP (Vista) software
  • Communication skills and customer relationship skills
  • Ability to meet deadlines, prioritize work and work independently
  • Attention to detail and accuracy
  • Team player mindset
