Interior Designer - Job Description

Multi-disciplinary interior design house located in Miami, FL looking for an Interior Designer willing and ready to work in a positive and fast-paced environment. Office Management and Purchasing background or experience is a major plus. Candidate must be proficient in AutoCAD, Photoshop, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

Skillset aside, we are looking for a positive, organized, and solution-based mind-set.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Interior Design
  • Minimum 3yrs of experience in Interior Design and/or project Management
  • Ability to handle multiple projects at the same time
  • High level of knowledge of the interior design market and FF&E
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and Adobe Suite
  • Knowledge of furniture specifications

Job Description

  • Take the lead, under the creative direction of Principal Designer, on projects from start to finish
  • Work with architects, contractors, subcontractors, and vendors
  • Build and foster relationships with clients
  • Attend site visits and design presentations
  • Oversee custom furniture development from concept to install
  • Develop mood boards and presentations
  • Work with Purchase Management team on product procurement; review client proposals and purchase orders
  • Will be responsible for working on and managing drawing sets
  • Ability to manage and mentor junior staff

Responsibilities:

  • Work closely and collaboratively with design team
  • Coordination with purchasing manager in thoroughly placing all purchase orders, and ensuring product and services get procured adequately
  • Well versed in client communication, emails, text, phone
  • Ability to site visit with note taking and corresponding photos
  • Order and prepare materials/ samples for project presentations
  • Ability to source products and materials with trade and list pricing
  • Ability to schedule, manage, and maintain team schedule
  • Ability to thoroughly lead with and perform assertive follow-up calls, including logistic and delivery coordination
  • Schedule and confirm client, project management and vendor meetings for design team
  • Assist with installs, returns, and photoshoots

Required Skills:

  • Fluent in English but additional languages a Plus
  • Proficient in MS Excel
  • Outstanding verbal, written and graphic communication
  • Strong organization and time management skills
  • Strong sense of urgency and task prioritization
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Fast learner
  • Ability to work independently
  • Must be assertive, self-motivated, self-driven, efficient, resourceful and punctual
  • Good internet research skills
