Description

JOB OVERVIEW

The Senior Project Manager (SPM) functions as a Project Executive and is responsible for monitoring and delivering all aspects of multiple projects. This includes maintaining and delivering the highest quality of work while ensuring that budget, schedule and client expectations are consistently met. The SPM oversees the Project Manager or Project Lead to ensure the project is successfully delivered. The SPM effectively directs staff, establishes and manages corporate standards, generates new business and maintains business of existing clients.

The SPM establishes and monitors budgets, manages project teams and prepares schedules to ensure efficient use of resources. The SPM oversees, at an executive level, design development, production of working drawings, and construction administration (CA) on projects. This position is responsible for maintaining client relationships and has the authority to direct, control and monitor all project activities. The SPM must demonstrate experience in all phases of architecture / interiors and engineering services and must have a successful track record of delivering multiple projects on-time and on-budget to satisfied clients. The SPM also maintains and coordinates project staffing and scheduling with our Deltek system, reviews invoices, writes and approves DCOs, coordinates contracts, reviews and approved team timesheets and other Accounting interaction. The SPM also demonstrates leadership skills and contributes to CUBE3 beyond the delivery of projects.

Requirements

EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION

• Minimum of 10 years related experience in Interiors projects.

• Professional Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree from an accredited Interior Design School.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES

• Delivers projects from start to finish with minimal oversight.

• Effectively manages multiple projects simultaneously.

• Effectively manages office and project staffing and hours matched to projections.

• Effectively manages project schedules to ensure completion within allocated period of time.

• Maintains ongoing, positive and proactive client relationships.

• Ensures that project needs are satisfied by effectively managing project staff and resources.

• Effectively and proactively coaches, mentors and provides performance–enhancing feedback to team members.

• Implements processes to reduce risks and exposure in all phases of the project.

• Directs activities relate to CA, including scheduling, preparation of shop drawings, field observations, report of change orders, and pay requests.

• Ensures that CA activities emphasize efficiency, quality assurance, and code compliance.

• Demonstrated ability to perform business development activities and assist in marketing activities.

• Mentor junior colleagues in all areas of professional and technical development.

• Ensure quality assurance and quality control, including regarding Revit.

ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS

A valid, unrestricted driver’s license and driving record, as deemed acceptable by our firm’s liability insurance carrier, must be presented and maintained.

POSITION TYPE/EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK

This is a full-time exempt position, with a minimum expectation of 40 hours per week.

TRAVEL

Up to 20 percent travel to local and nonlocal project sites and client meetings.
