Raydia Food Group is Hiring a Chemical and Beverage Service Technician Near South Bend, IN
Position Title: Service Technician I Exempt Status: Hourly Accountable To: Chem/Bev Service Manager Job Summary: The service technician is responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of beverage and ware-washing equipment. Customer settings range from local restaurants, schools, grocery stores, or anywhere that serves food commercially within the region. The Service Technician is responsible for a company vehicle and is required to drive to various locations to service customer equipment. The service technician occasionally provides scheduled on-call support and occasional overtime. Duties / Responsibilities:
Install, maintain, and repair a variety of beverage dispensers, coffee makers, ice machines, and related equipment in compliance with manufacturer guidelines and safety protocols.
Conduct routine inspections of equipment to identify any potential issues or malfunctions, and proactively address them to prevent downtime and disruptions in service.
Troubleshoot and diagnose problems with dish machines and beverage equipment, utilizing a range of tools and technical expertise to identify root causes and implement effective solutions.
Perform regular cleaning, sanitization, and calibration of equipment to ensure optimal performance and adherence to health and safety standards.
Collaborate with kitchen staff and facility managers to understand equipment usage patterns and provide guidance on best practices for equipment operation, maintenance, and cleaning.
Maintain accurate records of equipment maintenance and repairs, including documentation of performed tasks, parts used, and associated costs.
Keep current with industry trends, emerging technologies, and equipment advancements to provide recommendations for equipment upgrades or replacements when necessary.
Train and educate customer’s staff on the proper operation and maintenance of dish machines and beverage equipment to extend the lifespan and efficiency of the equipment.
Assist in the procurement of replacement parts, tools, and supplies, and maintain an organized inventory to support efficient repairs and maintenance activities.
Provide excellent customer service and represent the company positively
Drive extensively to scheduled and as-needed locations (company vehicle is issued and funded)
Maintain the provided service vehicle and equipment with care and ensure vehicle is stocked with necessary items to efficiently support the customer needs
Ability to work flexible hours to meet the needs of customers
Other duties as assigned
Required Skills / Abilities:
Must be at least 21 years old
Must have a valid driver's license with an excellent driving record
Must have the ability to physically perform the work (ability to lift 90 pounds, dexterity and the ability to articulate under and around equipment required)
Must have a mechanical aptitude with troubleshooting skills
Must have basic electrical knowledge (including use of a volt/ohm/amp meter is a plus)
Must have basic plumbing knowledge
Must be service-oriented with strong communication skills
Must be self-motivated and possess integrity
Must have a strong work and attendance history
Must be a positive and eager member of the team
Must complete manufacturer training and achieve certification to maintain/install coffee and tea dispenser units
Education & Experience:
High school diploma or equivalent preferred
Minimum 2 years of related work experience is highly desired but not required
Hours:
Full-time
Monday - Friday
6:30 am start time
On-call every fourth week (weekday evenings & weekend)
Some travel may require overnight accommodations due to location and complexity of the assigned task
