Raycap Inc is Hiring a Quality Engineer Near Charleston, SC

The Quality Engineer is responsible for establishing, maintaining and updating the processes for Quality Management (QMS), Environmental Management (EMS) and Occupational Health & Safety (OSHA).

 This position has a key responsibility in providing quality tools, methods, and data to assure ongoing product defect-free quality both internally and at suppliers. The Quality Engineer monitors and maintains Raycap quality processes to assure continual 100% customer satisfaction. This position provides direction to materials, manufacturing, engineering, and suppliers to meet quality objectives, and also provides information regarding Quality Management Policies and Procedures.

Job Requirements:

  • B.S. degree required in engineering discipline, Master’s degree a plus
  • 3 - 5 years experience in technical field with significant hands-on quality and manufacturing experience
  • Effective quality analysis, data analysis, problem solving and strategic thinking ability
  • Expert knowledge and application of DFx, FMEA and other quality tools
  • Ability to effectively collaborate across functions within Raycap
  • Effective project management skills that facilitate planning complex projects and timely completion of project deliverables
  • Six-sigma, CQA, CQE, CQM, CRE, Lean or other certifications desirable
  • Ability to use MS Office and statistical packages preferred
  • High attention to detail and logical problem solving skills
  • Ability to read component and assembly drawings

Primary Job Responsibilities:

  • Develop, execute, and maintain comprehensive quality and process plans for all Raycap products.
  • Maintain records outlining compliance with QMS and determines quality improvement parameters using data management and statistical methods relevant to manufacturing processes.
  • Conduct regular internal audits to ensure the QMS is effectively maintained.
  • Establishes Quality at source mindset by identifying process deviation, root cause counter measure, problem solving using sample size and acceptable error, and determining levels of confidence.
  • Maintains Raycap Global quality management tool, analyzes data using normal distribution, and process capability analysis tests.
  • Works closely with manufacturing engineering and leadership in preparing control plan, DFMEA, PFMEA.
  • Maintains and works with Global technical team in knowledge sharing, reviewing common processes, establishing personal networks, benchmarking best practices.
  • Provide expert knowledge and data to Raycap technical staff to influence product, sub-assembly, and components designs based upon process and product quality data and trend information.
  • Partnering with Supply Chain Management, participate in the selection and development of suppliers to yield long-term benefits for Raycap.
  • Participate in supply chain strategy development addressing overall supply chain performance, identification of improvement or new requirements, and execution of improvement plans.
  • Inspect incoming components, raw materials, fabricated parts, and in-process assemblies and subassemblies products as required.
  • Continuous assessment of opportunities for improvement and any needed changes to management systems, and plant level quality certifications.
