Summary

PRIMARY OBJECTIVE OF POSITION

Establish business relationships with members as the primary credit union contact; to include opening accounts and providing account services. Acts as liaison for Member Business helping member service and contact center field any questions. Identify and cross sell credit union products to business members.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

SALES

  • Open member business accounts, perform transaction and maintenance and provide information/research when necessary, on business accounts
  • Complete check order and debit cards and any other merchant services as requested by members.
  • Close member business accounts following proper procedures
  • Responsible for communicating and working with merchant services and payroll vendor
  • Conduct thorough business account risk assessments
  • Analyzes, prepares and presents analyzed account statements, products and services to Relationship Managers and members.
  • Visits Remote Deposit Capture member offices to perform regulatory required site visits and equipment installations,
  • Completes a variety of reports related to member transactions; reviews, prepares, and processes a variety of daily operational reports as well as the daily Online Banking/RDC/ACH/PosPay/Bill Pay checklist and operation certifications.
  • Resolves a variety of member complaints and inquiries; maintains contact with members through telephone or written communication, as required.
  • Responsible for submitting reviewed new account packets and scanning within 5 business days
  • Providing a consultative sales approach to meet our member's business financial needs by proactively identifying opportunities to cross-sell and up-sell beneficial products and services.
  • Maintain knowledge of the credit union’s Member Business products and services and motivate staff to cross-sell.
  • Act as liaison for Member Business Lending program helping to establish new account relationship and fields any subsequent member business services questions regarding additional merchant services available.
  • Fostering a teamwork attitude to ensure all credit union goals and objectives are achieved.
  • Responsible for referring sales opportunities to other lines of business.
  • Complete business new account review to for proper required documentation

SERVICE

  • Maintains excellence in delivering member service and exceeding the credit union and department service standards.
  • Perform daily responsibilities along with knowledge of opening and closing accounts, debit cards, cash management services, processing stop payments, wire transfers, placing check orders, processing special instructions on accounts and performing general file maintenance.

COMPLIANCE & REGULATIONS

  • Maintain accurate data entry in regards to member records, maintenance, and transactions; have the ability to find and correct errors.
  • Ensure the protection of the credit union’s interest in matters of adequate documentation; includes but limited new account risk assessments, and account packets.
  • Adherence to security, internal control procedures, policies and applicable laws and regulations.
  • Adhere to mandatory compliance, product, and credit union training.

All other duties as assigned.

RELATIONSHIPS AND CONTACTS

Reports To: SVP Member Business Services

Contacts: Frequent contact with members and other departments face to face and by telephone.

Qualifications


EDUCATION

Requires a High School Diploma or GED

EXPERIENCE

Three (3) years of experience in assessing and meeting customer/member needs through customer service.

Twelve (12) months of cross-selling/upselling products and services, one (1) year business account opening.

PHYSICAL

Position involves wrist/hand manipulation, restriction to workstation for extended periods of time. May be required to stand for extended periods of time. Vision abilities required by this job include close vision for frequent viewing of computer monitor and review of documents. Communication abilities required by this job incudes clarity in speech and hearing for effective staff/member interaction.

MENTAL

Must be able to perform job junctions independently or with limited supervision and work effectively either on own or as part of a team. Must have a strong ability to read and carry out various written instructions and follow oral instructions. Must have a strong ability to speak clearly and deliver information in a logical and understandable sequence. The ability to anticipate member needs, initiate assistance, make recommendations of appropriate products/services. Must be capable of dealing calmly and professionally with numerous different personalities from diverse cultures at various levels within and outside of the organization and demonstrate highest levels of customer service and discretion when dealing with the public. Must be able to perform responsibilities with composure under the stress of deadlines/requirements for extreme accuracy and quality and or fast pace. Must be able to effectively handle multiple, simultaneous, and changing priorities. Must be capable of exercising highest level of discretion on both internal and external confidential matters.

EQUIPMENT SKILLS

Personal computer with windows environment, scanner, teller cash machine, cash advance machine, calculator, copy machine, Debit card imprinter.
