Overview

The Sr. Service Engineer provides technical support via telephone or computer and completes projects related to the hardware, software and/or communications on all components of Rain Bird Pump Station Systems, Central Control, and other Golf or Commercial products.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical phone support to customers, distributors, and field personnel.
• Complete assigned projects and provide the summary of work to the National Sales & Service Manager
• Ensure all phone support and projects are performed in accordance with the applicable Service Level Agreement
• Provide diagnostic troubleshooting of pumps, motors, filters, controls, communication equipment, and irrigation components to include valves, rotors, electronic controllers, flow sensors, and other products.
• Remotely work with on-site technicians as required for installation, maintenance, or repair projects
• Prepare and conduct classroom environment training at Rain Bird in Tucson, AZ, as well as remote locations as needed.
• Track, report, and follow-up on product and technical issues using established escalation processes.
• Participate in the GSP 24 hour on-call phone support rotation.
• Assist in documenting improvement projects to ensure field support personnel have adequate troubleshooting and operation manuals.

Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

• S. Degree in Engineering or technical field plus 3-5 years relevant experience
• Strong computer troubleshooting skills, both hardware and software
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Excellent interpersonal skills
• Ability to work closely with co-located and remotely located colleagues.
• Direct customer service and support experience
• Knowledge of electronics

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Fluency in Spanish or other foreign language(s)
• Irrigation, golf course service and Golf Central Control programming experience
• Previous experience with people management and project management
