Radiology, Inc., a physician owned and operated private practice group in Huntington, West Virginia is seeking a full-time accountant to join our management team. Radiology, Inc. is WV’s largest radiology physician group and offers a full scope of diagnostic radiology, interventional radiology, and medical physics professional services.

About the job

This position reports directly to the practice administrator/chief administrative officer. Duties include:

• Primary responsibility for providing in-house accounting and finance functions.
• Evaluating and improving financial accounting systems and processes.
• Full participation with the management team in the evaluation of business opportunities including proforma development and board presentations.

The ideal candidate will have the ability and desire to take on progressive levels of leadership and increasing job scope. Position responsibilities can be completed on-site or on a hybrid on-site/remote basis.

Specific responsibilities include

• Operate and manage the banking and cash management functions of the corporation in keeping with company processes and accounting controls processes.
• Process accounts payable and maintain the general ledger in keeping with company processes and accounting control policies.
• Process payroll accurately and timely in compliance with federal and state wage and hour requirements and company policy.
• Assist the administrator and outside accounting service in maximizing the tax efficiency of the financial accounting and business processes.
• Participate in the month end financial closing process within specified time frames.
• Identify and evaluate opportunities to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of accounting functions and internal auditing.
• Participate in the analysis of financial performance as requested including both financial accounting and patient accounting.
• Participate in and be a resource for the internal management team.
• Participate in the communication and relationship development with business partners.
• Participate in the leadership of staff and the management of all business processes.
• In conjunction with the administrator and other department supervisors, identify and implement opportunities to improve the efficiency of office functions.

Qualifications

• Bachelors’ degree in accounting, finance or health care administration.
• Masters’ degree in Health Care, Business Administration or Accountancy a plus.
• Accounting or financial analysis experience in a health care setting strongly preferred.
• Knowledge of accounts payable and payroll processes and regulations.
• Strong organizational and applicable software skills (i.e. Quickbooks, Microsoft Excel)
• Ability and desire to take on progressive levels of responsibility.
• Ability to work and communicate with a wide diversity of co-workers and business partners.
