RAD Ltd. La Cholla location is seeking a LEAD MAMMOGRAPHY TECHNOLOGIST

Radiology Ltd., is a 500-employee medical imaging organization providing World-Class Imaging to improve the health of all Southern Arizona. Radiology Ltd. is seeking a full time Lead Mammography Technologist to join our dynamic team in our La Cholla location.

What you’ll be doing:

We are looking for a dedicated Lead Mammography Technologist to join our team in bringing life saving breast cancer screenings to our patients. Ensures a high level of quality and service is delivered to all organizational patients. Comfortable working independently without supervision, have excellent problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities include:

  • Operates scanning equipment safely and competently, while obtaining quality images
  • Demonstrates competence in following established scanning protocols and exercises ability to adjust protocols as required
  • Complies with center safety guidelines for patient and self, utilizes protective equipment when appropriate
  • Screen patients for contraindications and ensure patient safety during procedures
  • Monitor and maintain inventory of necessary supplies for mammography procedures
  • Review mammography exams for technical accuracy, anatomical positioning, and annotation, completing verification process in Visage
  • Conduct regular audits to ensure compliance with quality standards, collaborating with the Center Manager or Director of Clinical Operation to address any challenges
  • Provide support for accreditation activities within the mammography department
  • Act as a resource for technologists in implementing new initiatives and processes

Team Supervision:

  • Lead the training and onboarding of new mammography technologists, ensuring competence and adherence to company protocols
  • Participate in the recruitment, interviewing, and hiring process for technologists
  • Monitor and approve timecards, ensuring accurate recording of hours worked
  • Conduct performance evaluations for technologists and facilitate ongoing development, including performance improvement plans and disciplinary actions if necessary
  • Allocate specific job responsibilities and define priorities for technologists
  • Serve as the primary point of escalation for clinical challenges, escalating complex issues to the Center Manager or Director of Clinical Operations
  • Assist in establishing technologist schedules to ensure appropriate staffing levels and coverage
  • Provides input and support for new initiatives and process implementation
  • Acts as on-site leadership in absence of center manager, helping to manage center activities

Qualifications


Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Knowledge of mammography procedures and adherence to regulatory standards, including MQSA/ACR guidelines
  • Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and safety guidelines
  • Knowledge of operating and adjusting mammography equipment
  • Skill in organizing and prioritizing work and following assignments through to completion
  • Skill in written and verbal communication
  • Ability to take initiative to improve processes, think strategically and identify trends
  • Abilityto provide open, honest feedback to improve decision making
  • Ability to maintain and build constructive relationships that produce results
  • Ability to effectively supervise non-exempt staff
  • Ability to lead in a manner consistent with USRS’ and the Departments values
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet established deadlines
  • Ability to be flexible in schedule and adaptable to constant change
  • Ability to effectively handle details with accuracy
  • Ability to maintain regular attendance and on-time approval to work as scheduled

  • Ability to resolve service recovery issues and understand when to escalate to the next level

Education and Experience:

  • Graduate of an accredited program in Radiologic Technology with specific training in mammography
  • ARRT certification in Mammography
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience as a mammography technologist
  • BLS certification is preferred
