R2 Contractors is looking for a Procurement Specialist to join our growing team. The Procurement Specialist is the go-to person to procure supplies, equipment and services utilized by the project; to provide assistance and training to R-2 Contractors Internal personnel regarding the procurement process; to solve complex procurement issues; to provide documentation for an audit trail of decision making and meeting required bidding regulations; and to supervise buyer assistant and procurement clerks.

The list of primary responsibilities includes, but is not limited to the following:

• Develop and compose specifications, scope of work and contract terms

• Conduct Pre-Bid/Proposal conferences and document information; perform product and cost evaluation

• Review and evaluate proposals for adherence and responsiveness to RFP guidelines; negotiate contracts based on RFP requirement and submitted proposals; ensure the quality of content, format of solicitations and contract documents, correctness of technical advice and accuracy of mathematical calculations

• Manage project contracts

• Conduct extensive research to develop specifications, add potential suppliers and reduce district costs; conduct site inspections, vendor visits, demonstrations, seminars, exhibits and contract negotiations

• Determine the appropriate procurement method for construction projects

• Participate in project meetings for procurement planning

Requirements:

• Employee must have a minimum of 2 years of heavy civil construction experience

• Excellent communication (written and verbal), interpersonal and supervisory skills required

• Computer literate with proficiency in Microsoft Office, specifically Excel and Word

• Must be a team player and willing to perform multiple duties as the need arises

• Must be detail oriented, organized, and self-driven

• Have excellent verbal and written communication skills

• Able to pass pre-employment drug screen and a DVR acceptable to the company’s insurance carrier
