Mission:

 Quantum Research is seeking a System Administrator. This position is on-site in the National Business Park near Fort Meade, MD.. As a member of the Joint Cyber Training Enterprise (JCTE) Network Operations (NetOps) Team, you will enhance network/system utilization and management through monitoring and analytics, while advancing NetOps maturity. The System Administrator role requires proficiency across a wide range of IT/cybersecurity products, tools, architectures, and implementations, and utilizing this expertise to provide detailed reports on the utilization and stability of Persistent Cyber Training Environment (PCTE) platforms. Additionally, the candidate will support individual and large-scale collective training events on PCTE for the Cyber National Mission Forces (CNMF) at U.S Cyber Command (USCC).

Responsibilities:

As System Administrator, you will monitor system performance, utilize platform tools, generate reports, and communicate effectively with reporting agencies. You will collaborate with a highly skilled team to support cyber training operations across USCC and various agencies.

Specific responsibilities:

• Acquire knowledge in cyber range design, implementation, validation, and execution.
• Day-to-day network performance monitoring.
• Collect, evaluate, document, and report large data sets from classified and unclassified PCTE instances and associated resources utilizing platform tools.
• Analyze data sources, assess validity, and provide actionable recommendations to improve management, utilization, and visualization (dashboards) of PCTE instances.
• Collect metrics, record historical usage, identify trends, and identify risks to the platform.
• Identify best practices for the above responsibilities and help inform JCTE NetOps processes, tools, dashboards, etc to best respond to customer requirements.
• Communicate effectively (written and oral) with leadership on both business and technical aspects.

 Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline from an accredited college or university. (5 years’ experience may be considered in lieu of degree.) 
• Understanding of analytic tools such as Metabase, Grafana, Microsoft SQL Server, Tableau, etc.
• Background in VMware and Net App.
• Proficiency in generating queries and reports, utilizing data analysis tools such as Excel, Metabase, and SPSS.
• Self-starter in a fast-paced environment, collaborating with engineers of varying skills and experience levels.
• DoD 8570 IAT Level II or greater certification (CCNA-Security, CySA , GICSP, GSEC, Security CE, CND, SSCP) or be able to obtain within 90 days of employment.
• TS/SCI eligible and willing to undergo and successfully complete a CI polygraph.

Desired/Preferred Skills:

• Programming experience with frameworks, including XML, SQL, and ETL.
• Knowledge of IT infrastructure technologies.
• Experience with database and model design and segmentation techniques.
• Strong ability to prioritize multiple tasks, projects, and demands.
• Proven success in a collaborative, team-oriented environment.
