Job Description
LCG Inc. seeks an experienced Infrastructure and Operations Manager skilled at leading and managing a team of network and systems administrators supporting biomedical research at the National Institutes of Health. The ideal candidate brings DevSecOps experience along with current NIH Governance, Risk, and Compliance (GRC) proficiency.
Responsibilities:
Develop, plan, oversee, and report on network security capabilities to minimally include management of daily security / appropriate use issues, incident response, intrusion detection, firewall configurations, anti-virus scanning, vulnerability patching, and web server security
Coordinate and collaborate with the IC ISSO, the Branch Chief, and System Owners in support of GRC activities to minimally include risk assessments, system security plans, security testing and evaluation reports, plan of action and milestone reports, system rules of behavior policy, memorandums of agreement, disaster recovery plans, and contingency plans
Maintain and optimize infrastructure components for highest value to customer, example components include workstations, desktops, networks, data centers, servers, virtual machines, storage, and cloud services
Manage system and network administrative support of legacy IT platforms, systems, and applications running on UNIX, LINUX, Windows, and MacOS operating systems, including high-performance computing environments
Establish, operate, and maintain asset and configuration management capabilities with integrated change management practices and using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) technologies such as Puppet or Ansible
Support the development and implementation of an integrated approach for cloud migration rationalization, workload placement decision making, and cloud management operations Oversee backup and recovery systems and processes for desktops and critical infrastructure servers
Enforce work standards, policies, procedures, and best practices
Hire, lead, motivate, develop, coach/mentor, and manage a high-performing team
Requirements:
Must have at least six to eight years (6-8) years of progressive IT management experience supported by experience performing in hand-on infrastructure and operations roles (network/systems engineer, systems/applications administrator with Microsoft, MacOS, Linux system and security experience)
Federal customer experience supporting HHS, preferably NIH
Experience participating in organizational change and IT modernization initiatives
Experience managing cloud and on-premise infrastructure and operations organizations
Familiarity with NIH Governance, Risk, and Compliance (GRC) frameworks, tools, methods, and requirements
At least one system, network, or security administration certification, for example, Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), Red Hat Certified System Administrator (RHSA), VMWare Certified Professional (VCP),
ITIL 4 Foundation certification
