Book Street is seeking a roll-up your sleeves, whatever it takes, get things done, Consulting Operations Manager to work with our clients to streamline processes, manage resources, and optimize project outcomes. Reporting to our Head of COO Solutions, this position is a full-time, salaried, non-exempt position working from our Columbus office and traveling to our clients to get things done onsite. This position will work a minimum of 40 hours per week, with an annual target of 80% Time Worked Billable during our core hours of business, as well as occasional sprints, as needed. This involves analyzing market trends, identifying opportunities for growth and improvement, and making data-driven decisions.Process Improvement : Lead initiatives to streamline and optimize business processes across various departments. This may involve identifying inefficiencies, implementing best practices, and leveraging technology to enhance productivity and reduce costs.Team Management : Oversee a team of operations professionals, including managers and analysts. Provide leadership, guidance, and mentorship to ensure team cohesion, performance, and professional development.Budgeting and Financial Management : Develop and manage budgetsfor operational activities, ensuring cost-effectiveness and efficient resource allocation. Monitor financial performance, analyze variances, and implement corrective actions as needed.Vendor and Supplier Management : Establish and maintain relationships with vendors, suppliers, and external partners. Negotiate contracts, manage service level agreements, and monitor vendor performance to ensure quality and compliance with company standards.Risk Management : Identify potential risks and develop strategies to mitigate them. This includes implementing controls, monitoring compliance with regulations and industry standards, and ensuring business continuity and disaster recovery plans are in place.Quality Assurance : Establish and enforce quality standards and procedures to maintain product/service excellence. Monitor and evaluate performance metrics, customer feedback, and industry benchmarks to drive continuous improvement.Cross-functionalCollaboration : Work closely with other departments such as sales, marketing, finance, and human resources to coordinate activities, resolve issues, and achieve common objectives. Foster a collaborative and cohesive organizational culture.Reporting and Analysis : Prepare regular reports and presentations for executive leadership, board of directors, and stakeholders. Provide insights, trends, and recommendations based on data analysis and operational performance metrics.Compliance and Legal : Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, industry standards, and company policies. Stay updated on relevant laws and regulations affecting operations and implement necessary changes to maintain compliance.Client Communication : Communicate and engage actively with clients as part of their team, addressing concerns, providing updates, and ensuring satisfaction with project deliverables.REQUIREMENTSBachelor's degree in business administration, operations management, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).8 years of experience in operations management, with 3 years at a Director level or above, with proven track record of leadership.Certification in project management (e.g., PMP) is a plus.Experience working in consulting firms or professional services industries is highly desirable.Strong knowledge of consulting methodologies, project management principles, and business operations.Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.Strategic thinker with the ability to analyze data, identify trends, and make data- driven decisions. Proficiency in project management tools, ERP systems, and data analysis software.Ability to multitask, prioritize tasks, and work effectively under pressure.Ability to work independently, and within teams, prioritize tasks, and meet targets.Comfortable with using technology, including Mac computers and a variety of software (Hubspot, Monday, Powerpoint, Advanced Excel).Excellent ability to communicate professionally with people at all levels of an organization and external contacts, both verbally and in writing must provide writing samples.Must be available to work from our office or client site 5 days a week for the first 90 days during our core hours of business and occasional evenings, if deadlines require. Hybrid work schedule is only available after 90 days and only when client work allows.Must have reliable transportation and be able to travel for client meetings and events, as needed.Ability to lift approximately 20-25 lbs.The duties and responsibilities described in this job description may not be a comprehensive list.
