Customer Service Manager-Intermodal

Essential Functions :

  • Resolve rail service issues by communicating and working directly with Railroad customer service and operations teams
  • Drive proactive load planning aimed at reducing the need for same day load recovery
  • Trains and mentors team personnel using key metrics and other customer service indicators
  • Manage performance of personnel with emphasis on new hire training
  • Manage operationally efficient staff capable pf performing with expanding book business
  • Utilize critical thinking and problem resolution to create solutions for repetitive service challenges
  • Manage a review process to identify and implement continuous improvement solutions
  • Manage the creation, entry and management of orders in the transportation management system(s)
  • Ensure financial settlement of payables and receivables tied to orders

Skill / Knowledge Requirements

Minimum education / experience necessary to perform the job :

  • Bachelors degree preferred in Business, Transportation, Logistics or Supply Chain
  • 2-3 years of Customer Service or Sales Experience
  • Intermodal or other Rail experience preferred
  • Proficient with managing spreadsheets in a Microsoft or Google sheet environment
  • Excellent communication and problem resolution skills
  • Microsoft Office skills (Excellent PowerPoint, Excel & Access skills)
  • Excellent writing skills & verbal communication
