Québec Government Office is Hiring a Business Development Officer Transportation Near Atlanta, GA

Title: Commercial Attaché - Transportation

The Government of Québec operates thirty-seven representations worldwide, with nine offices in the United States including: Atlanta, Miami, Boston, Chicago, Houston, Los Angeles, New York, Silicon Valley, and Washington DC. Opened in 1978, the mandate of the Québec Government Office in Atlanta is to develop and promote economic, governmental, and institutional ties with the seven states in the region that are, Georgia, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, Mississippi, and Alabama.

Role description:

The Québec Government Office in Atlanta is seeking a highly motivated Commercial Attaché / Business Development Officer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of the Atlanta metro area and Southeast transportation sectors (incl. automotive, distribution and logistics, smart mobility market, battery) and will be able to identify and deliver B2B lead generation and partnership opportunities for Québec companies in this sector.

The commercial attaché helps Québec companies achieve their objectives by providing them with strategic advice and market information, by introducing them to new business contacts, and by contributing to targeted promotional efforts. The commercial attaché constantly strives to grow and nurture her/his network of contacts, to identify new business opportunities, and to respond to the needs of Québec companies.

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Identifying and delivering B2B lead generation, event marketing and partnership opportunities for Québec companies.
  • Advising and supporting Québec companies with their business in the Southeast region.
  • Forging strong relationships with relevant market actors.
  • Promoting the strengths of the Quebec transportation sector and fostering best practices sharing.
  • Attending industry events and conferences, monitoring relevant market trends, and identifying and communicating actionable information to clients and partners.
  • Developing and carrying out strategies and action plan to help Québec-based companies achieve positive economic outcomes.
  • Growing and maintaining a customer base of Quebec businesses.
  • Organizes activities (seminars, networking events, missions and visits to Québec) that is relevant for the sector.

Requirements

  • Must be a US citizen or green card holder
  • Education: University degree
  • Language: Proficient English, intermediate French
  • Two years minimum of relevant experience preferably in the transportation sector
  • Possess a solid understanding of the Atlanta metro area and Southeast transportation sector (trends, decision-making processes, regulations, sales processes, etc.) and a good existing network of business contacts.
  • Strong customer service orientation, networking and business development skills.
  • Proactiveness and creativity in identifying opportunities and courses of action.
  • The ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
  • Strong research, prospecting, communications and relationship management skills.
  • Excellent organizational and project management skills.
  • Knowledge of the Québec transportation sector, and of Québec-US trade relations, is an asset.

Hybrid Remote

Note that this is a Hybrid remote job that combines on-site work at a specific address with some remote flexibility.

The successful candidate will be required to undergo security verification.
