Who We Want:

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Production Supervisor with medical device assembly experience to lead a team of assembly technicians. The position is based out of Fremont, California. The ideal candidate will support the management and VP of Manufacturing in various areas, such as managing production lines, new product development introduction to pilot line verification and validation builds, and material planning. 

Position Responsibilities and Authorities:

• Hire, train, develop and motivate production personnel to follow procedures, meet high-quality standards, production schedules, and productivity requirements
• Update and revise Manufacturing Process Instructions to ensure that MPIs are accurate and complete
• Address line support issues as they arise (including technical-related issues)
• Work closely with Engineering to resolve production issues and active participant in quality improvement initiatives
• Document and report any variances, problems, issues, or concerns
• Provide production personnel with expectations and performance feedback quarterly
• Plan, supervise, drive improvement and report production performance including output, yields, root cause failures, efficiencies, and trends
• Understand, train personnel, and enforce strict adherence to the applicable MPI and SOP of the Quality System
• Learn and enforce company safety policies and practices
• Lead or support various Lean Manufacturing initiatives that involve an Mfg-based team
• Review/ approve ECOs to determine the impact on manufacturing
• Review and disposition discrepant material. Implement corrective actions to prevent recurrences
• Evaluate designs for manufacturability (with respect to tooling and assembly methods). Provide suggested change proposals or tooling concepts during the design verification and validation phase
• Determine production and inventory requirements.
• Coordinate production workflow to ensure maximum performance and minimum delay.
• Coordinate subassembly and product shipments to and from the third-party coating, testing labs, and sterilization services.
• Unlimited/continuous use of a microscope.
• Unlimited/continuous use of manual cutters.
• Opening, lifting, and packaging shipper boxes approximately 10 lbs. in weight on a continuous basis

 Qualification Requirements:

Education:

Bachelor’s Degree in Manufacturing/Operations or related field with a minimum of 7 to 10 years of supervisory experience preferred and training that provides the required knowledge, abilities, and skills.

 Experience & Skills:

• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Effective and professional attitude in all interactions with cross-team functions and vendors.
• Experience working in a regulated industry.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize workload and meet deadlines.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
• Ability to lift up to 10 lbs
• Flexibility in a context of rapidly changing priorities.
• Proficiency in various computer systems/programs including MSOffice, ERP is a plus

The anticipated hourly rate range for candidates who will work in Fremont, California is $40 per hour to $50 per hour equity benefits. Our salary ranges are calculated by role and level. Your position within that range will be determined by your job-related knowledge, skills, experience, relevant education, and training/certifications. In addition to those factors, we also examine internal equity as well as considering the current market rate, and the title may be assessed one level lower or higher accordingly.
