The Division of Strategic Interdisciplinary Research in the Office of Research at Purdue University is announcing the search for an administrative assistant. The administrative assistant will provide primary support to the Vice President for Research Innovation (VPRI) and assist with broader office management. They will serve as travel delegate to the VPRI, and provide scheduling and calendaring support. They will coordinate meetings for the division of Strategic Interdisciplinary Research and other special programs. This role in consultation with the Vice President for Research Innovation will support other specific projects for the office. This position will collaborate with other administrative assistants in the Office of Research and partner closely with the Senior Executive Assistant for the Executive Vice President for Research.

Required:

• High school diploma/GED
• Four (4) years of experience in an administrative support role.
• Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
• Ability to handle frequent interruptions, balance multiple tasks, meet deadlines, and maintain confidentiality.
• Strong organizational and time management skills and attention to detail.
• Advanced computer and related software skills to include Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Internet, etc.
• Ability to collaborate and communicate with individuals at all levels within and external to the university to support department needs.
• Ability to interpret policies and procedures to proactively resolve issues or improve processes.
• Ability to identify problems and implement or recommend solutions.
• Drafting, proofreading and editing skills.
• Ability to lead others and provide direction and constructive feedback.
