This is a 9-month, academic-year position with working months while class is in session (August 1-April 30).
As an Assistant Director of Admissions, you will counsel and assist prospective freshman and transfer students in the college search and selection process. Primary responsibilities include admission recruitment, outreach and application review with the potential for added responsibility with program coordination and other special projects. The ideal candidate will be an outstanding communicator with the ability to engage and build relationships with prospective students and families, high school counselors, community-based organizations and campus partners. Additionally, this position requires the ability to think quickly, critically and independently using problem-solving and judgment skills to make decisions in a fast-paced environment. A large portion of the work will consist of reviewing applications for admission, discerning important information from the application file, putting the information into context, and swiftly and confidently making and justifying hard decisions. The Office of Admissions balances multiple priorities at once; time management, multitasking and intrinsic motivation are necessary for this role. The successful candidate will understand and support the benefits of a diverse campus community and value the perspective of others. This position will frequently engage with prospective students and their families in one-on-one meetings as well as speak to audiences as large as 1,000 or more on and off campus.

We conduct a holistic review of each applicant for admission and spend extensive time reading applications and recommending candidates for admission.
