Service/Repair Technician - Bellevue, WA

SUMMARY
The successful candidate must have a strong skill-set in installation, troubleshooting, repair and maintenance of various pumps & controls. Fabrication of components including, welding and pipe fitting are a plus. Field troubleshooting and repair, including electrical controls is greatly desired. Work occurs both in the field and in the shop. Position is interesting with high level of variety and problem-solving. Position must feel comfortable working alone.

JOB DUTIES

• Process and repair returned pumping equipment, compressors & systems, including pumps, controls, and valves
• Installation, maintenance and repair of pumps, piping, and controls at customer sites
• Fabrication of components, requiring the knowledge and safe use of welders, hydraulic press, pipe threader, lathe, drill press, hydraulic shear, hydraulic punch, oxygen/acetylene torch, and a wide array of electric and pneumatic hand tools.
• Evaluate and determine scope & method of needed repairs on a variety of pumps and controls.
• Perform repair operations including troubleshooting, electrical preparation, mechanical repairs, bench assembly/disassembly and mechanical assembly.
• Evaluate and test self-work to ensure compliance with work instructions, manufacturer, and industry standards.
• Coordinate and expedite other repair/assembly operations with production control and manufacturing supervisors.
• Perform inspections and preventative maintenance and service of pumps, controls, valves and systems as needed or as set out in equipment manuals.
• Diagnose problems, replace, rebuild or repair multiple types of pumps and systems, test and make adjustments.
• Provide emergency/unscheduled repairs of pump equipment and components in the field.

REQUIREMENTS

• Good working knowledge of centrifugal and positive displacement pumps, control panels, including VFD's, PLCs, etc.
• Highly motivated and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Good knowledge of hand tools, machinery, diagnostic and electrical test equipment.
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings, manufacturing instructions, equipment manuals and test specifications.
• Awareness of quality systems and processes.
• Knowledge of, and ability to use MS Office, specifically Word, Excel and Outlook.
• Ability to perform basic math skills in all units of measure.
• Possess or able to obtain a Class B CDL and crane operators license preferred
• Use of a forklift

PHYSICAL & TRAVEL DEMANDS

• Ability to work extended hours outdoors in a variety of weather conditions.
• Frequent lifting and moving of materials, with occasional lifting of items not to exceed 100 pounds
• Confined space work if necessary, including the use of fall protection and retrieval. Training will be provided for Confined Space and Basic First Aid/CPR.
• This position will be on rotation for a 24 hour, on-call status.
• On an emergency basis, you may be required to work varying shifts, weekends and holidays.
• Travel across the state is required but is rarely overnight
• Our customers include facilities that may require background/security checks.
• Employees driving company vehicles or driving while on company business must successfully pass a DMV records check and drug testing

OTHER
High School diploma, or equivalent, and 2 years of experience in hydraulic, pneumatic, mechanical and industrial skills with some PLC experience.

Pay: $28.00 - $40.00 per hour
