Duties:

• Performs selected nursing and administrative/clerical duties that assist in the management of our patient’s care
• Patient Check in/ Check out and insurance verification.
• Provides excellent customer service and the highest quality patient care
• Escorts patient to exam rooms
• Takes patient vital signs (blood pressure, heart rate, weight, etc.)
• Accurately records patient medications in chart / EMR
• Responsible for EKG, rhythm strip. (Proficiency Required)
• Assists physicians with patient exams as needed
• Responsible for Holter monitor hook-ups and removals, event recorders and Loop recorders
• Takes pharmacy phone calls, reviews charts, and calls in prescription refills
• Pulls patient charts when necessary
• Job requires to be in Frisco (Monday, Thursday) and Carrollton locations(Tuesday, Wednesday)
• Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday: 1 PM to 5 PM
• Tuesday: 8 AM to 12 PM

Requirements:

• Prior experience as a Medical Assistant working in a clinical capacity would be required
• Maintains cleanliness and supplies in patient exam rooms
• Follows all OSHA and other safety guidelines
• Maintains current CPR certification
• At all times, protects the confidentiality of protected health information (PHI) of patients per HIPAA regulations
• Actively demonstrates teamwork at all times
• Performs other duties as required
• May also be responsible for insurance pre-certification, surgery scheduling and coordinating transfers and admissions

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $16.00 - $23.00 per hour

Expected hours: No less than 17 per week
