TITLE: MEDICATION ASSISTED TREATMENT (MAT) PROVIDER

LOCATION: Pueblo of Pojoaque Behavioral Health

SUPERVISED BY: Clinical Director

POSITION DESCRIPTION:

This position will provide MAT services to Pojoaque tribal members and the surrounding community that are enrolled in the program to address the local opioid crisis. The MAT provider will provide individual consultation regarding the medical aspects of treatment and prescriptions to assist with recovery. They will work within the lens of harm reduction and support the use of medication assisted treatment when necessary. They will work closely with the program team to identify areas of need, strategies, and treatment plans. This position requires the ability to work collaboratively with a diverse group of clients, team members, community providers, and other multidisciplinary service providers. Must demonstrate the ability to provide trauma/healing-informed and resilience-based direct services.

MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

●A Minimum of a master’s degree is required

●Active Clinical Licensure for the State of New Mexico (APRN, NP, PMHNP, or PA, or PA-C, MD, DO)

●Holds an active valid Drug Enforcement Administration registration number in congruence with the Consolidated Appropriations Act of 2023

●At least two-years of relevant trauma-informed clinical experience, preferably with substance use treatment

●Experience working with Native Americans

●Experience utilizing electronic health records

●Highly developed attention to detail and organizational skills

●Demonstrated good verbal and writing skills

●Must be able to maintain confidentiality

●Displays strong leadership, management and interpersonal skills

●Demonstrated knowledge in substance use disorder prevention, substance use disorder treatment, harm reduction, recovery, and/or drug policy

●Strong clerical and computer/database skills; proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, Access, and Outlook

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE POSITION:

●Provide assessment and treatment of substance use disorder, including assessment of co-occurring disorders and referral to other services using trauma informed and evidence-based modalities

●Utilize appropriate medication based on best practice and complete all required documentation for pre-authorizations for medication

●Collaborate with other healthcare, treatment, and community providers to coordinate client care and maintain good relationships to assure continuity of care for clients

●Maintain appropriate licensure, including following all continuing education requirements in order to ensure that clients are receiving the best possible clinical services

●Participate in the ongoing development of Pojoaque’s Behavioral Health Team and Medication Assisted Treatment Program, including working with the evaluation team

●This position is expected to engage in reflective supervision and actively examine how working with people who have experienced trauma impacts you and how you impact the people you work with, as well as coworkers.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $125,000.00 - $130,000.00 per year
