POSITION SUMMARY: The Banquet Bartender is responsible for promptly serving alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages for all banquet functions according to established service standards.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES: NOTE: Legacy Development & Management may unilaterally may change the requirements of this job description at any time. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. These include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Perform assigned set-up and breakdown duties on each shift.
  • Communicate with guests using clear and enthusiastic words, tone, and body language always.
  • Work as a team with all Legacy Development & Management associates in order to maintain an effective atmosphere and an efficient food and beverage service.
  • Work with others to keep all areas cleaned, stocked, and safe at all times.
  • Mix, garnish, and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks for patrons of bar and dining room following standard recipes.
  • Ring drink orders into computer immediately, collect money from guests for drinks served, and make change.
  • Arrange bottles and glasses to maintain an attractive display in agreement with Legacy Development & Management standards.
  • Wash and sterilize stemware.
  • Perform needed bar prep.
  • Be attentive and offer your assistance before the guests has to ask for it.
  • Count drinks guests that are served.
  • Place current bar tabs in front of guests at all times.
  • Anticipate your guest's needs. Follow the half-full rule when offering another drink. Be alert of guest signals (raising a hand, looking directly at you, etc.), and acknowledge the guest so they know you will be right with them.
  • Learn your guests' names, occupations, and favorite drinks. This will make Legacy Development & Management a special place for them.
  • Follow the procedures for responsible service of alcohol. Should a guest reach the state you do not feel they should drive, we will summon a taxi. Do not hesitate to ask for management intervention if necessary.
  • Works with safety as a priority and follows department and company safety standards.
  • Knows and adheres to company and department policies and procedures, embraces company and department culture, and takes pride in the hotel and amenities.
  • Attends required training classes and incorporates new standards, services knowledge and safety into daily work practices.
  • Looks for opportunities to assist peers, guests, other departments or leaders always. Solution oriented, stays on task, and promotes teamwork.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.


REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS (INCLUDES EDUCATION, SKILLS, AND EXPERIENCE):

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • One (1) year of experience directly related to the essential functions listed above
  • Requires a minimum of two (2) years customer service experience.
  • Must possess outstanding customer service, organizational, and interpersonal skills as well as excellent attention to detail and the ability to multi-task
  • Must possess excellent communication skills, verbally interacts with management, servers, team members, and guests with proper etiquette, grammar, and spelling
  • Must be Alcohol Certified in the state of New Mexico or be able to pass Responsible Service of Alcohol Test within 30 days of hire.
  • Must possess basic math skills and have the ability to operate cash register and/or POS system and count back change
  • Must be able to communicate in English with guests, management, and other employees to their understanding.
  • Must have knowledge of workplace safety procedures
  • Must be able to work overtime, including weekends, evenings, and special events as needed

  • This position requires frequent manual dexterity in combination with eye/hand coordination such as handling of equipment.
  • Will have repetitive hand motions and prolonged periods of standing.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this position include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, and the ability to adjust focus.
  • The employee must occasionally lift up to 50 pounds and carry up to 50 pounds.
  • The noise level in the work environment is usually medium to high.
  • Exposure to possible hazards which may include but are not limited to; cuts, slipping, tripping, falls, and burns.
  • Exposure to heat, cold, and mild chemical exposure.
