Job Summary:
As a maintenance Mechanic at Metal-Matic, you will perform mechanical, electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic repair on plant equipment and facilities. Examines machines to find trouble; dismantles machines, replaces defective parts using standard repair or replacement parts; reassembles machines and makes necessary adjustments to insure efficient operations. Reads and interprets blue-prints and schematic diagrams. Work will involve installation and aligning equipment and work of several trades such as carpentry, electrical, welding, plumbing, etc. Instructs and teaches maintenance employees of a lower labor grade as directed.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Must be able to read and interpret blue-prints and schematic diagrams.
Must have completed Maintenance Trainee Labor Grade 3 or equivalent in experience and/or formal technical training.
Must be able to perform all mechanical phases of major projects such as the installation of complicated equipment.
Must be capable of instructing and teaching maintenance employees of a lower grade.
Must be able to perform all functions with minimum supervision.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, and/ or walk, and/ or use arms and hands to load and unload material for extended period of time. Must be able to safely lift and load 50lbs. The employee must also be able to work outside in a variety of conditions. Candidates must be able to tolerate any climate, must be flexible with shift and hours.
We also offer a retention bonus of $1500 after one year of employment paid in three installments - $250 at 90 days, $250 at six months and $1000 at the one year anniversary.
